Old Waverley Hotel

Super convenient, right across from the station entrance. The hotel facilities were pretty good too, except the elevator was out of order that day. But the service was excellent; the staff hand-carried all our luggage up. And for our 5 AM checkout, someone was there to help us carry it down as well.

Got a top-floor room. The windows were tiny, and it was incredibly hot. There was a renovation going on next door, making a terrible racket, and it seemed like the second floor was also under renovation. The location is good, right across from the train station, with several supermarkets nearby. Breakfast was also decent. There's a map next to the elevator.

The hygiene was good, and the location was excellent. The breakfast was a typical English breakfast. However, the elevator was constantly broken, which was quite inconvenient.

The location is excellent. I checked in quite late on the first day and was told that only top-floor rooms were available. My experience was that it was hot, there was no air conditioning, and the window was very small, essentially an attic room. Plus, the elevator was broken. Although the hotel had a staff member help with my luggage, it was still a struggle. On the second day, while going down for breakfast, the elevator got stuck on the second floor, which was terrifying. However, after multiple discussions with both Trip.com and the front desk, the air conditioning, floor, and window issues were resolved on the second day, and the room space was much larger. I'm very grateful for that. Although I was moved from a street-view room to one with no street view at all, which was a bit disappointing, it was still alright. The free luggage storage is also a great plus. If I come to Edinburgh again, I would still consider this hotel and booking through Trip.com.
