Leonardo Edinburgh Haymarket

Unexpectedly terrible: 1. **Poor location**: It takes about 25 minutes to walk to Princes Street, and there are no attractions nearby. The nearest subway line doesn't accept credit cards, requiring an extra ticket purchase. 2. **Substandard facilities**: No proper shower cubicle, and the water pressure was very low. Upon closer inspection, I found a leak at the bottom, so half the water was overflowing along the pipe. 3. **Bad service**: After realizing there were no toothbrushes or slippers, I called reception. They told me they didn't have any and when I asked where I could buy some, they said there was a shop right next to the front desk. Later that evening, when I went to the front desk in person, they immediately gave me three free dental kits! Who was that person I spoke to earlier on the phone? It makes no sense! 4. **Overpriced and disappointing food**: During the Art Festival, two nights with breakfast for two adults and one child cost 7000 yuan. The breakfast was identical both days, the sausages were full of filler, and the bacon was so salty it was inedible. Avoid this place!

I stayed at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh Haymarket and booked a standard king room with a sofa bed. The room was 27m², which isn't small for a UK hotel. It was well-equipped with a full-length mirror, safe, hairdryer, bathtub, and air conditioning. The room was cleaned daily, which was great. My only minor complaint was that the shower pressure wasn't very strong. I booked the hotel through Trip.com, and because it was a third-party booking, the hotel didn't require any deposit. The room included a daily breakfast for three people, and the breakfast spread was quite generous. Breakfast hours were from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM, which was perfect for sleeping in. Since Edinburgh isn't a huge city, most major attractions were within walking distance. An Uber to the castle cost around £9. There are Tesco and Sainsbury's supermarkets nearby, as well as many Chinese restaurants. The location is excellent and I highly recommend it.

The hotel is conveniently located just over a hundred meters from Haymarket train station, and tram and bus stops, making transportation easy. There are many bars and supermarkets nearby, and it's about a twenty-minute walk to the Old Town, Edinburgh University, Princes Street, and the Castle, which is very convenient. The hotel facilities are relatively new, and the rooms are quite spacious; a family of three with an extra bed doesn't feel cramped. The rooms have no strange odors, and they are quiet and soundproof. The breakfast is abundant, with almond milk and oat milk being particularly noteworthy, and a good variety of breads and fruits. I recommend this hotel for family trips.

The room layout was very well-designed, making it super comfortable for our family of three. The location is convenient; we could walk to attractions, or take a taxi for about 6-7 pounds if we didn't feel like walking. There are also plenty of restaurants downstairs, including a hot pot buffet.
