The location is amazing. Right in the middle of the Royal Mile. The vibe and the restaurant is relaxed and friendly. But the most important is the staff! They are nice, friendly and super helpful. I had one night when I felt really sick, Lauren from the hotel sent me a ginger and lemon tea! I think this is definitely the place to stay in Edinburgh.

I was touched by an amazing gesture. One night during my stay I wasn’t able to sleep and when something like this happens I drink milk. It was too cold I don’t wanted to go outside so I asked the staff if I can buy a glass of milk from them. One of the female staff gave me the milk and didn’t allow me to pay. I felt so touched because it was such a caring gesture. She asked me to sit and finish it like my mum haha. So, I was the only one sitting in the bar and drinking milk. I don’t know but I really felt touched by the gesture. Also, the place is amazing and clean. I had no issues and I made amazing friends from the stay. Attached is the picture for reference. 😊

Everything was great. Amazing location. Absolutely attentive and friendly staff. The atmosphere was amazing. The only downside was that as soon as I checked in to my room, the room smelled of sewage and I can only assume that it wasn’t properly checked. However, as soon as it was reported to the hotel staff, it was fixed - so all good in the end and explains how attentive they are!

Traveling solo, I found the bathroom quite clean, and drawing the curtain gave me a great sense of privacy and security. After checking out, I could store my luggage for the day and pick it up later in the evening. Each storage locker has its own individual combination lock, which is quite spacious for your belongings. The location is right next to St Giles' Cathedral – I didn't expect it to be so close! It's also less than 500 meters walk from the castle.

Some yellow dots on the sheet. Chargers were not working. No kitchen and you can't eat or drink anything inside the room. "Prison style" design. No hair dryer when I want to take a shower, I had to walk around to find people who borrowed them already. Narrow space... I even got a bump on my forehead. And the price is one of the highest among hostels. Correspondingly, won't go there again.

I have stayed at The Court before and really liked it, especially because of the location – it’s very convenient and central. However, I feel the recent changes have made the experience less enjoyable. The space is now smaller, and unfortunately, the kitchen has been removed. There used to be areas where you could cook, eat, and hang out with other guests, which made the place feel more social and flexible. Now, that is no longer available. It’s also not allowed to eat inside the rooms, so if you don’t want to order from their kitchen, there aren’t many options left. For me, this was disappointing because one of the best parts before was the freedom to prepare your own food and enjoy it in a shared space. Overall, the location is still great, but the new rules and reduced facilities make the stay less comfortable than it used to be.

Everything was so great, the staff were friendly and service was amazing! Location was very convenient for transporting, right in the center of old town, just wandering and exploring views and things by walk.

One of the best hostels that I have ever stayed! The staff were very helpful, the facilities were all clean, the room was comfortable and quiet. And the location was the best! Highly recommended for solo female traveler!

This was my first hostel experience, and it's incredibly unique, having been converted from a prison. The signs on the walls were also quite engaging. It was very quiet, and the location is superb. Overall, it's clear a lot of thought and effort went into making this such a special place.

Extremely nice position with affordable prices. Just few minutes walk to the prince street. Also , it’s really easy to remember where the hostel is located without using the google map, just behind the statue of Adam Smith. The staffs are nice, and all is cleaned. The locker is big enough with a table at the top where you can tidy your baggage (don’t forget your belongings put on there). Moreover, the food served is very nice and the live band also. You also have like 10% off on the menu as a guest! Last but not least, just try to join the wts group of the hostel. There are really nice suggestions like site-viewing, restaurant, etc. from other visitors. It really give you lots of nice idea about where to go at Edinburgh if you didn’t plan anything yet.

The room had comfortable beds and was quite spacious. The air conditioning worked well, and thoughtful touches like earplugs and eye masks were provided. Its location couldn't be better: right in the heart of the Old Town's Royal Mile, immediately beside St Giles' Cathedral and the statue of Adam Smith. The ground floor houses a bar, which is very handy for a quick beer or whiskey. You also check in here. Upon arrival, you're given a 5-digit access code (mine was 78275) that opens all doors. Each bunk bed has a corresponding numbered locker (they're quite spacious), which you secure by entering a 4-digit PIN twice.
