Hotel Poincenot

We are incredibly happy with our 5nights stay at Poincenot! I had forgotten that we booked a twin bedroom so at check in, I was asking if they have a room with double beds instead, without really hoping for too much. The lady at reception actually went above and beyond, walked up and down & checked a few rooms for us, although in the end we needed to take the twin room which was fine. Breakfast was great everyday, not too much option but can get your morning going for sure. What I loved most was the housekeeping! They turned our bed down daily, kept our room nice and clean which was a joy to come back to after a long day hike. We put the twin beds together and the next day when we returned, they made it a double bed by adding some extra mattress, what a star! I would highly recommend this place - though it’s a bit of a walk from the bus station but you will be surrounded by restaurants and shops anyway.

Extremely clean and cute hotel. Check out is rather early in most hotels in Patagonia at 10 am but they allowed us to rest in their very comfy lobby for some time.

Decent clean hotel, it's pretty new by the looks of it. Comfy enough bed, would have liked it a bit more firm. Room and bathroom clean. As we're right next to two main Hiking Trails' entrance, there's quite a bit of street noise due to late hikers or just the general noise in this hiking tourism town. Breakfast is pretty basic with continental and some scrambled eggs with bacon *****s. WiFi is very slow and at times no Internet at all. It's pretty much the whole town am told. Certainly, my local Movistar line is just as bad.

I had an amazing stay at Poincenot! All the hosts were incredibly welcoming and the accommodation exceeded expectations. The location was convenient, with easy access to “El Sendero al Fitz Roy”. Also, the cleanliness was top-notch, the breakfast and the amenities provided added extra comfort. I highly recommend it. I will never forget that one of the girls from the front desk (I’m sorry I don’t recall your name) lent me a pair of trekking poles. I wouldn’t have made it without them.

After staying at the hotel for three nights with six people in three rooms, I would like to confidently give Hotel Poincenot a five-star rating. In terms of service, they were the best among the six hotels we stayed at during our 18-day trip. During check-in, Milena patiently explained all the relevant details, and she especially helped us handle a small medical incident calmly and professionally. During check-out, Rocio made a great effort to find a taxi for us, as the village is so small that available taxi drivers were rare. Breakfast starts at 7 am. When we informed them of our early departure times at 5:30 am for hiking and at 4:30 am for a sunrise expedition on another day, they asked about our preferences. We mentioned that some hot drinks would be appreciated. Surprisingly, they prepared hot coffee, hot water, and a variety of foods and fruits! The hotel is relatively new, exceptionally clean, and well-maintained. It features expansive public areas, perfect for socializing with friends or other guests, particularly when outdoor activities are limited due to the frequent weather conditions in the area. The beds are comfortable, and the Twin bed size is suitable for individuals with a small or medium body size.

The property was nice, clean, and an easy walk to the hiking trails.

I liked this hotel it was clean and had everything you need like a comfy bed bathtub/shower towels shampoo and breakfast A lot of great hikes start just a few 100 meters away The WiFi was not great but I have been told it’s actually nowhere really in El Chalten The best thing about the hotel was the very friendly staff. We were mostly cared for by a Young women who spoke perfectly English (that was great for me as I don’t speak Spanish)

Although the staff does seem to be trying very hard, this place will give you the basics -- bed, simple breakfast, a bathroom -- no more. The heat and internet were both basically not working throughout our three-day stay. They do not clean the rooms regularly unless you ask them. There are quite simply a lot of promises made without much in the way of resolution. So go in with low expectations and perhaps you will be pleasantly surprised. Otherwise, I would keep looking.
