Casa Mia El Cuyo Eco Beach Boutique

Hard to find any place left to get away from the noise of the world in every sense, but Casa Mia delivered -- and then some. From the moment we set foot on this pretty and well-designed property, we received a warm welcome from the staff and then later from Marco, the hotel owner. We stayed in the Suite, which is spacious and comfy with a nice terrace where we chilled out and watched the sun go down. The constant natural ocean breeze meant the room was always cool, dry, and airy. Breakfasts were yummy and always included fresh fruit, along with a chance to be social, or not, with other guests at this small property. Marco's a great host, always at the ready with information about El Cuyo and suggestions on things to see and do. As for the beach, which is a really short walk from the hotel, it was perfect for us and felt like one of the last stretches of paradise. Great for sunrise walks, paddle boarding, lounging, or just kicking back to watch kite surfers of all ages and levels. Stole my heart, can't wait to go back.

Casa Mia was just what we were looking for, a comfortable, clean, friendly place that is quiet and on the beach. We highly recommend this spot! El Cuyo is a quiet Mexican town that feels far removed from the typical tourist areas which is exactly what we were hoping for. We stayed in the penthouse unit at Casa Mia and were pleased with how spacious, clean and comfortable the unit was. The views were spectacular up there and it felt very private. The included breakfasts were fresh and delicious and so beautifully presented. The staff were helpful and enjoyable. One week was not enough!

Casa Mia is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. The property is beautiful and perfectly located in close proximity to the beach, making it ideal for anyone who loves the ocean. Our room was naturally air-conditioned, incredibly comfortable, and the bed was excellent for a restful night’s sleep. We stayed in the Suite, which features a private balcony with a stunning sunset view. Opening the balcony doors truly gives the feeling of sleeping in nature, surrounded by peaceful sounds and beautiful scenery. The space was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The service was outstanding—everyone was kind and attentive. The hosts, Marco and Heather, are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. They provided great local insights and recommendations that helped us make the most of our stay. Casa Mia is also a fantastic choice for kitesurfing and surfing enthusiasts. Overall, it’s a perfect blend of comfort, nature, and hospitality. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing experience.

Casa Mia was beautiful and the staff were remarkable. It was an amazing place to visit. We spent 4 days in El Cuyo, working with Extreme Control, the kite boarding company on the premises. We also spent a couple of days on the beaches which was truly pristine. Additionally, we went kayaking in the reserve, saw lots of pink flamingoes, and had some great food at several of the restaurants in the area. I would highly recommend Casa Mia if you are looking for a smaller community, significantly less traditional tourist traffic, and a desire to decompress.

A brilliant way to start our 2 week trip in the Yucatan. The minute you arrive you feel relaxed. Breakfasts are delicious, rooms are clean and comfortable and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The staff are all helpful and the owner - Marco - is brilliant. Makes you feel at home and welcome. Can’t fault it and would definitely recommend.

Comfortable room by the sea and nature The hotel exceeded my expectations. It's exactly what I was looking for since I just wanted to be close to the beach and fall asleep to the sounds of the waves close by. The room was very comfortable and no air conditioning is needed. The room keeps cool due to the amount of screened in windows. There's a nice cross breeze. Bed was super comfy, and breakfast was excellent. Marco and his team are extremely friendly and are naturals at making guests feel at home. They have many years of experience (I was once a hotel/restaurant professional). I could have easily stayed another month to learn how to kite-surf and enjoy nature. I'll be back 🤩👍

Joaquin the host was amazing, and always on hand with what’s app questions. Check in was the easiest we’ve even experienced which we loved. The hotel has a very laid back vibe. Great value for money and location. Definitely check it out if you visit El Cuyo.

I stayed here in February for 4 nights - it is a really tranquil, pretty setting - has a neat courtyard for hanging out and open dining area - it was fun to chat with the other guests during breakfast. I really appreciated the breakfast being included and it was a great choice of home made oatmeal with a ton of fruit or pancakes and fruit plus coffee or tea. It was a short walk to the beach which I always did in bare feet - there is a nice covered spot to sit on the beach and every morning I would walk along the water and only see a few other people. There are a surprising number of high end/quality restaurants of various cuisines - we didn't have a bad meal out. Marco (owner) and Joaquin (manager) are gracious hosts and helpful at all times. I was able to rent a Kiteboard for my stay as decent price. Highly recommend!

Casa Mia in El Cuyo has met all of my expectations and even more above and beyond during my entire trip / stay in Mexico.
