2* hotel with 2* features, cold room with stone floors but it was February, no heating. Tired and old fashioned but comfortable bed & clean. Sheets so thin you could see through them! Breakfast & dinner taken across the road very adequate if simple. Very helpful friendly staff. Quite glad we were out of season as if the bar across the road from our room had been open then it would have been very noisy. Great location for bird watching on the lagoon.

The hotel is quite old and the room small but the view on the El Rocio lagoon (full of birds) is amazing and the staff very nice. I was even able to do some birdwatching from the room! I really enjoyed the pictures of birds in the reception and the room.

The hotel is perfectly situated overlooking the lagoon, provided you have a room on the right side. The bedrooms are small and you hear quite clearly conversations from the adjacent rooms. The locks are old fashioned and fiddly; indeed, one afternoon as I walked along the corridor a pleading voice from inside a bedroom cried “Help, I am stuck in my room, the lock doesn’t work”. The beds are not particularly comfortable. There is usually no one at reception. Dinner and breakfast are taken across the road at the sister restaurant. Unfortunately the town hall, in its wisdom, authorised an outdoor bar/restaurant just across the road, from which music (sometimes live) and loud chatter goes on until very late, so sleeping is a problem.

We spent one night here. Had an amazing view from our room over what would be the lake (except it dries up in the summer). The hotel is quite nice but it is dated. Lots of stairs up to get to the rooms so not very accessible and the air conditioning in our room was next to useless. It took hours for it to cool down our small room. But staff were friendly and the location is really good, so it’s a trade off I guess.

The is a basic 2 star property with a sister building across the road providing breakfast and supper. We were in a Naturetrek tour group so no idea whether our breakfast was typical - processed cheese, processed ham, carton juice, (fresh coffee was good) but it was very ordinary. Supper was simple but well cooked. Room was fitted with a ghastly 1/2 bath and basically unfurnished (no table ot chair). Sheets were of the poorest quality imaginable. Not that it mattered, but their was no 24 hour desk and no concierge. The room was not swept properly so by day 3, sand was everywhere.

Couldn't fault the hotel generally. The situation is wonderful and I had side room so I could see the lagoon. The room was very quiet and perfectly comfortable. Yes, it's not 5 stars but it's atmospheric. I stayed with a group. Some of us struggled with getting the heating to work and the shower was interesting, unexpected jets of water, but nothing that would stop me staying here again. The room was done to perfection, really excellent maid. The food in the restaurant was a good standard. The only puzzle was the breakfast on the last day when there were no eggs, bananas, knives, or larger pieces of bread !!

I was not impressed with the service, and found the staff to rush through the meal. Dissappointing! My partner had meat and I had fish but the accompaniment was the same: frozen vegetables and Boiled potatoes. Great dissert. Nice decor; Nice place.

The hotel is almost a throwback to spaghetti westerns. I loved it. Wifi worked perfectly and loved the flamenco band at the excellent bar next door. Beware of 40 degrees in summer, hotel air con was perfect though.
