Good hotel, still under construction, some light noice is noticable but not disturbing. Good bed The room is a standard size hotel room, it looks much bigger on the pictures, bit misleadin, but lots of storage options. The hotel is located on a steep road, 5 minutes hike from the main Street

It’s a little high up on a hill, but the view from my balcony was gorgeous. It’s also right off the main street, so if you don’t mind the trek up and down you’re still relatively well-situated to be near the backpackers’ bars and restaurants and shops. Breakfast had a lot of local Sri Lankan options which I greatly appreciated, and staff was also happy to explain each dish to newcomers. A small piece of advice for the team though: perhaps hire a few female staffers? As a woman traveling alone, one of the first things I noticed was the all-male staff—or at least, I didn’t see a single woman working there in my 2-night stay. I don’t have a problem with it, but newer solo female travelers might unintentionally be scared off

Hotel Onrock is ideal for our family of 4 who values comfort and space while not spending excessively. All staffs are very attentive, friendly and eager to help (e.g. restaurant staff noticed that I was being irritated by a random mosquito and offered me insect repellent protectively). The room tour given to us was more than what I was expecting. The view of sunrise, Little Adam's Peak, Ella Rock, Kithal Ella Fall and the gap is very beautiful on a clear day. The on site restaurant, while not large, offers very good quality food, be that curry, pasta or Eastern Asian dishes. And while the selections for breakfast cannot match that of a 5-star hotel, whatever that was on offer (which is still a reasonable selection) is very yummy! Laundry service is very reasonably priced. Special mention to the manager/receptionist (young man with beard) and Sameera at the restaurant who were super friendly. The only negative that I could think of is that our room was not available are the normal check in time of 2pm and we had to wait for a little while. And as mentioned by many other reviews, while the hotel is very centrally located, it does involve a steep climb, so be aware of that.

We had 2 nights in Hotel Onrock. It's a nice hotel and the staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. The breakfast was good. The only thing is that the hotel is located quite high up, and the walk-up is very steep. Other than that, all was good.

Definitely gotta be one of the best hotels in Ella, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious, and the view is even better, I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Ella

Great hotel, with unbeatable view of Ella rock on the balcony. However the room did not have universal plug sockets, the hotel provided a hairdryer but did not fit the plug socket. It is also very difficult to get to with suitcases. Fine if you’re backpacking, but carrying suitcases up the massive hill is very difficult. Perhaps the hotel should look into purchasing their own tuktuk to ferry customers up and down the hill. Not everyone is a backpacker!

Amazing hotel just 5 min walk from the Main Street with bars and restaurants,view is awesome !!!🤩 love this place ,breakfast is nice as well
