I came here for a solo birthday trip expecting a five-star hotel experience, and unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to that expectation. I do want to start by saying the lobby/front desk staff were great. They were very attentive, welcoming, and quick to respond whenever I needed something. I was solo so one night I needed help with zipping my dress and they send someone right away. The cabins themselves are also beautiful. However, there were several things that really took away from the experience. Every single “clean” towel I received had visible stains on it, which is simply not something I would expect from a hotel at this level. The shower also drained extremely slowly, leaving me standing in water every time I showered. I let the front desk know, and they immediately sent someone to address it, which I appreciated, but unfortunately the issue was never actually resolved. I had my birthday dinner at the hotel restaurant on my final night and became extremely sick afterward. I had also visited the restaurant the night before for a sunset drink, and one of the servers I encountered both nights was noticeably unfriendly, which was disappointing—especially during a birthday trip. Overall, I found the restaurant food pretty mediocre for the price and setting, and the cocktails were extremely sweet. And a small thing, but worth mentioning if you’re celebrating: don’t expect any acknowledgment from the restaurant. I was there specifically for my birthday dinner and they didn’t even sing happy birthday lol. The property itself is beautiful and has a lot of potential, and the front desk staff were wonderful. But between the cleanliness issues, maintenance problem, restaurant experience, and getting sick after my final dinner, it just didn’t feel like the five-star experience I expected.
