A lovely setting on the river, nice lay-out of buildings, a lovely large room in the clock tower building, which included a large red stand alone fridge, bottled water provided free. Lots of tea and coffee and a milk in the fridge. Surrounding village so picturesque even with river levels so high. Adjoining Coppa Club provided breakfast, drinks and evening meals, lovely staff welcoming lounge/dining areas.

Nice, clean room with excellent rain shower. Modern with quirky 50’s style accessories. Great location and good free parking. The restaurant/ bar area is very good with lovely gardens overlooking the river. Excellent checkout receptionist but our check-in lacked warmth and information.

Lovely comfy rooms, great bathrooms with fabulous smelling soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. Tea and coffee tray good. Private safe parking

We really enjoyed our stay at The Great House, The room was perfect and very spacious, The only gripe I have is that it would be really useful to have two shower heads, I really didn’t want to get my hair wet but it was only a rainfall shower head, It was a slight struggle to wash without getting my hair wet, That’s the only thing! Everything else was wonderful, Receptionist was really polite on the day we booked in to leaving the next day, All ready looking forward to coming back in the summer!!

The rooms were well appointed. Good parking nearby to Reception and the Coach House where the rooms were. The bar/ restaurant was lively with an interesting if limited menu.

This is one of the most comfortable hotels I’ve stayed in. Every detail has been thought about and everything has been designed to make the guest feel welcome and happy.

Very nice property well located in the heart of Sonning. Room was clean and functional with a large and very comfortable king bed. The Coppa Club restaurant on-site is very good with a terrace and large garden leading down to the river. Staff are friendly and professional and helpful with cabs etc. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back

What a fantastic location and really nice décor. Good value for money and buzzy atmosphere in the evening. We were there on the hottest night of the year and whilst provided with a room fan it was still really hot in the room - however any other time it was really comfortable with nice en suite. We will definitely be back.

Stunning location and lovely rooms. The rooms are hot unless you can tolerate the sound of the fan in the room, and could’ve done with more than 2 teabags. But have stayed often and will continue to visit The Great House, possibly one of my favourite places to stay.

Room was spacious clean and comfortable, amazing food

My friend and I checked in late as we were delayed at the event we were attending. We still had a friendly welcome when we did finally turn up. Our room was very comfy and had everything we needed. We were greeted by more friendly staff the next day and enjoyed a good breakfast. Just a shame that we were not staying longer, as our visit was very short!

Lovely hotel but our room was much much smaller than expect. Not a complaint, it was perfectly nice, I’d just book a different style if staying again so we had more room.
