- Waterfront balcony rooms are fine but on the small side for more than 2 adults. - Tommy the innkeeper speaks some English and is helpful with directions. I ended up just taking the 7 rmb shuttle bus from the train station and walked the 15 minutes to/from the hotel as I wasn't in a rush. Also, I wanted to eat further from Fenghuang tourist central as the prices were cheaper and the options looked more legit. - There's a lot of renovation and construction going on all over Fenghuang now. Nearby, loud construction started at like 8AM if you are planning to sleep in. - You need to use your room key to turn on the power, and the toilet is electric, so you need to insert your room key in the power slot to flush it, which was annoying during the day when you don't need to turn on the lights. - The rainbow bridge right next store is covered up with tarps and scaffolding now so don't expect a good view when you look right from the balcony rooms. - Overall the hotel is very central within Fenghuang and fairly close to the entrance if you don't want to drag your luggage far, although views wise, there's probably better locations for river racing balcony views within Fenghuang. One plus though, is the balconies on this side of the river don't get blasted with sun if you plan on hanging out there in the afternoon.
