Phoenix Yuanshe Riverview Homestay (Phoenix Scenic Area Nanhua Branch)

I liked the tatami double-bed room a lot: the deco, the tatami, the (river, mountain and maglev) views from my room, the gifts included and the owner’s hospitality. I liked the miao costume and the experience very much. The owner had also gone the extra mile by kindly offering a free head accessory for free and helping me flag down a taxi when I couldn’t get any on Didi. I liked the plum blossom outside my window the most.

The best thing about this place is definitely the location: just across the road you can walk along the river and be right in the heart of the old town, while still staying slightly away from the crowds. The room shows signs of age but is acceptable, and the view from the small balcony is genuinely beautiful. Unfortunately, the service was almost nonexistent: I was taken straight to my room without any information, and when returning in the evening it often felt awkward to greet the staff, who seemed more like a family gathering than a reception. Smoking was allowed at the reception and in the corridors, and the smell reached the room, on top of extremely noisy neighbors late at night. If I return to Fenghuang, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Our family stayed 2 adult and 2 children in their 5th floor room. Spacious with great view of the river and part of the ancient town. Area is not noisy and far from clubs and bars from the other side of the town. Walking distance from main attraction. Room is clean and tidy with great water pressure. Our host is very friendly and accommodating and made us feel at home. They provide 1 set of traditional costume and you can rent costumes for the rest of the family with minimal charge. It became one of the highlights of our trip. They even helped us get taxi back to the highspeed rail. I definitely recommend this homestay. 😊

A very clean and comfortable hotel with a big room. Location is very convenient and is located in the ancient town with balcony overlooking the river and town. Friendly staff and service.
