Great pub in a great location near Scarborough and the Cleveland Way. Comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms, and provisions, including tea, coffee, biscuits, water, shampoo, and shower gel, are restocked daily. Really friendly and helpful staff, who went out of their way to help when the twin room we thought we had booked did not exist, and we needed breakfast earlier than the start time as we were leaving early to walk the Cleveland Way. Please note that if you are booking a room through a third party website, they all advertise the Blacksmiths Arms as having twin rooms when they do not. And breakfast is served from 8.30am. Overall, a very pleasant stay in a lovely pub.

Stayed here for one night last weekend, a bit of a mixed bag is probably the best way to sum it up. The room was lovely, with a comfy bed so had a good night sleep. A couple of pints of very good real ale did help. the bathroom is nice and large but found the shower a bit inconsistent as the water kept going from hot to cold. Dinner in the evening was nice. We didn't have a reservation but the staff accommodated us with a table at a busy time for them. The menu is very basic but well cooked. dessert was clearly home made and the highlight of the evening. A bit of background music or live music would have been nice. Breakfast in the morning was disappointing. we were let into a cramped front room with tables so close together it was hard to get through. I made the effort to get us some orange juice on an otherwise limited table of continental items but left it at that. A full Breakfast with no beans, hash brown or Back pudding ( I know it's not everybody's cup of tea) and a chipolata sausage left me underwhelmed. We did get some luke warm beans once we asked for it. Overall we had an enjoyable stay but was it value for money? not so sure.

Second visit to Cloughton, so chose to have a Sunday roast at The Blacksmiths again. The previous visit was excellent. Sadly, not this time , very quiet , 2 roasts ordered came out very quickly. Small dinners , 1 potato cut in half barely roasted , frozen carrots and peas as the vegetable option , wife's beef very fatty , unfortunately both meals this time left us not wanting to return. Understandably, in these hard times, margins are tight, but so is paying £16 for a dinner one would expect better value. Owner, as always polite enough , staff not very attentive to requests. Set in the lovely little village of Cloughton with plenty of off-street parking.

Wonderful home cooked steak pie experienced at this friendly pub. Warm welcome, not least by the old world open fire. Step back in time and experience some good old fashioned service and value for money. My wife and I are going back for seconds tonight.

Brilliant little place staff are very welcoming food is beautiful we stay in the outside cottages there very cozy we will be back thanks for everything Kirsty& Daren

We had a great stay at the blacksmith arms , rooms are exceptionally clean , good breakfast and good options for evening meal. quiet little village . Many thanks to Tony his wife and the team.

I stayed here for one night with my girlfriend. Our stay was perfect. Lovely room above the pub.ckean and well presented.staff were fantastic and friendly. And the food was fantastic. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again
