We were given a bad suit in the innermost location of the hotel. The room was big but empty. The Duchess hanging at the door is glowing green, which is very creepy. I negotiated with the hotel to downgrade and live in a small room, but was rejected. Reception said that if I used the toilet, I would have to pay 100U for changing rooms (equivalent to rejecting the request). This hotel is really too long, everyone should not live in the ninth room. I was so scared that I didn't sleep well all night.

This is a beautiful hotel with old world charm and modern amenities in the center of historic Florence. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, blankets and pillows. The bathroom was plush and modern. We even had a separate sitting room. The breakfast was delicious, varied and plentiful with an attentive kitchen staff. It is served in a grand room with high ceilings, frescoes and chandeliers. A mid-afternoon tea is held there as well. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. They were even kind enough to make arrangements for me to enter one of the unoccupied hotel rooms to photograph the Duomo from an open window at sunrise. We had stayed here ten years ago. We were so happy that we were able to book here again.

This is an excellent hotel and in most respects a five star hotel. The positives are a beautiful historic building with frescos on the ceiling and antique furniture several centuries old. The. view from our room of the Duomo was spectacular. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the services from employees was first class in all respects. The only negative was significant. The room had a very strong sewer odor that made it almost uninhabitable. The solution was to open the three large windows overlooking the Duomo and this made the odor dissipate to acceptable levels. Unfortunately the tourist and youthful population of Florence drinks and partties until 2-3am in the morning and the Duomo is a popular place. The loud noise made sleeping very difficult. We chose noise over sewer smell but this is not a choice that a client paying over $700 per night should have to make. We also had some water leakage problems in the bathroom. I think much of the issue may stem from rain and old infrastructure of the city but they should have made us aware of this reality before accepting our reservation. The room was # 9 called the Empire Suite. Resolving this problem the Palazzo Niccolini would deserve the highest rating.

i cannot over rate this hotel and its excellent staff, bar one porter who must've been unhappy working over Christmas. The receptionists and Luka who met us in the beginning were excellent. No matter what query we had they were there to help us find places to eat, excellent choices ladies loved all the restaurants you booked for us. Nothing was too much trouble from looking up the opening times of the Duomo cupola to giving us directions to various venues we wanted to visit. The kitchen staff who laid on the magnificent buffet breakfast on Christmas morning also deserve a special mention, they must've have spent ages preparing the buffet and it was an amazing sight to behold. The room where my son and his family stayed was like something out of the Uffizi museum... as was the dining room. Loved the snow 'village' set out in the dining room. The hotel is just literally on the Duomo square. If you want somewhere special to spend Christmas then this is the place to go. Thank everyone for making it so special for our family.

Room was beautiful, as is the rest of the hotel. Staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. Of course, the hotel is steps from the Duomo. But, as the city of Florence is a museum unto itself, the location is your starting point for amazing explorations. Had a room booked for a visit to Florence two months later and canceled that hotel to stay here again.

This is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful location right next to the Duomo. Our room was absolutely gorgeous since it is part of a lovely (but updated) palazzo. The staff was great and the breakfasts were delicious. It was very welcoming after a long day of sightseeing and quiet at night. It made our visit to Florence special.

Excellent in every possible way, the Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo will make you feel cared for at the highest level at a location that is not to be believed. The lobby and lounge area is charming, serving a lovely breakfast. The rooms (I stayed in the Grand Suite, though all are fantastic) are elegant with frescos and antique furniture, while still being comfortable. And the location is jaw-dropping with immediate access and views of the Duomo. But it is the EXCEPTIONAL staff that made this a memorable experience. From the welcoming front desk staff, to the charming & caring night manager, I felt like I was staying with close friends in a gorgeous home.
