A little bit farther than I expected but otherwise OK. Loved the ambiance of the old building! The stay started out good. Our host Alessia was very welcoming, giving us her cell number in case we had questions and showing us our room and the AC remote. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. Our AC didn’t work and we had a very hot sweaty night. When Alessia finally answered our texts the following day, she blamed it on the Italian law stating that AC wouldn’t work unless it was a minimum degrees outside. According to Google, this law is only for public buildings and schools, not hotels, and since every other hotel on our itinerary had AC, we were not happy with her excuse. Why go to the bother of showing us the remote, if she knew we wouldn’t be able to use it as it was supposedly not hot enough yet? Upon checkout, no one could be found to pay our hotel tax, and we waited for over 15 minutes while the maid frantically called for our host to come. When some man finally showed up, he was extremely rude to us and we had to run, barely catching our train. Sorry to say, would not stay here again.
