B&B Lorenzo de' Medici

After a problem with the b&b we booked we turned up at the Lorenzo De Medici unannounced looking for a couple of rooms. We were sorted within the hour and we can't thank them enough. We were provided with a host of information on where to eat and visit. Every recommendation was perfect 👌. The apartments were very clean and comfortable and breakfast set is up for the day. I can't remember a more hospitable host, we will return without hesitation.

Carmine is an amazing host! The room was very clean and had everything we could want. You can check out and leave your baggages if you would like to explore the city. There was also breakfast included which was godsend! It was delicious. Thank you again Carmine, our trip was everything we wanted thanks to you!

Outstanding location within walking distance of everything really including the train station and all of the major landmarks. Carmine was so polite and helpful with recommendations for restaurants as well as providing information on anything we had planned to do. Breakfast was wonderful, with fresh pastries, fruits, meats, cheeses, and so much more. The room was very nice with modern touches. When we return, we will want to stay here again. My partner and I spent a weekend in Florence and had an amazing stay here. The accommodation is a short walk from the tram station and the central market with easy access to all the major sites. Our room was clean, modern, spacious, comfortable and well-appointed with a lovely bottle of Chianti awaiting our arrival. The breakfast is extensive with a good range of options and a great choice of good quality products. The host, Celestine, is the kindest, most caring and considerate man you will ever meet who went above and beyond in ensuring that we enjoyed our weekend away. His communication pre-arrival was excellent. He greeted us on arrival and carried our cases up two flights of stairs, and then spent time making some excellent recommendations in terms of restaurants and places to visit on our arrival. I was seriously ill on our last day of our stay and Celestine checked in regularly with my partner sending regular messages to see if I was ok or needed anything. Following the cancellation of our flight back to the UK on the Sunday evening due to the storm, Celestine was extremely helpful in allowing us to keep our room and extend our stay for another night. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone who is looking to stay in Florence.

We are first time Europe travellers and stayed here in Dec 2023. The hospitality at this B&B is the best you will find anywhere. The hosts were incredibly friendly and let us leave our bags before our room was ready, gave us so many helpful recommendations, provided us with complimentary wine & chocolate, and provided a delicious breakfast each morning . The room was incredibly clean and the location is close to the train station (10min walk) and within walking distance of all the major city sights. We would recommend this accommodation for anyone travelling to Florence.

Perfect location. Impeccably clean room. Awesome breakfast. Nice added touches like wine & chocolates. The big draw card is Carmine & his staff. They couldn’t do enough for you and the communication was great and instant. Fabulous experience, would definitely stay again.

I have stayed at many hotels and B&Bs around the world, some high end and some more humble. Based on price and advertising this establishment promises the former but delivers the latter. Don’t expect your “luxury double” room to be any more than standard or even basic. Don’t expect your breakfast to be more than a cold (albeit pleasant) selection in a small room where people eat alongside stored food and washing up. Don’t get me wrong, I’d give this a four star rating at half the price but for what we paid I would have expected something considerably better. By the way the location is central but next to a market and lots of stalls, giving the area a downbeat feel. Plus you need to climb two sets of poorly lit and quite grubby stairs to get to the entrance. On the plus side the host was pleasant and helpful and the room was clean and modern. Overall a disappointing experience, colouring what should have been a great stay in this lovely city.

We had an absolutely amazing stay here. Carmine was a wonderful and friendly host who helped us from before we got there until after we had left. He called us taxis, gave us food and attraction suggestions, offered us coffee and wine at check in, and much more! The room was comfortable, spacious, updated, and very clean. The location was a perfect short walk from the train station and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go in Florence from there. The breakfast was amazing with fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, and more with freshly made espresso. When we return to Florence we will stay here again no question. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay.
