Hotel S.Giorgio & Olimpic

The hotel is very close to the train station, with various Chinese supermarkets, restaurants, and souvenir shops downstairs, which is very convenient. We arrived around 11 AM, and the owner allowed us to check in early and arranged a top-floor room with a balcony. The double bed was large and very comfortable, and the balcony view was absolutely stunning, directly overlooking the Duomo. With such a balcony, you almost don't want to go out! The hotel service was also good, and the breakfast was decent.

I stayed at two hotels in Florence, and this one was a standard, convenient hotel. However, the room was too small, and the breakfast was very mediocre. I'd recommend the other guesthouse more, comparatively. Both are within a five-minute walk from the train station. The pros are the excellent location, right next to a small square opposite the train station, so I never felt unsafe coming back late. It's also very close to all the attractions; just turn right out of the door and walk down the alley to find the Central Market and the Duomo. There's even a Chinese restaurant and a bubble tea shop downstairs.

The hotel's location is excellent, right across from Florence Santa Maria Novella (SMN) train station. The rooms are clean, and the service is good. Breakfast is decent, and it offers great value for money.

Absolute nightmare! This hotel is a complete rip-off. When I booked, the price suddenly jumped by 10 euros between placing the order and payment, so I had to pay extra. When I arrived, they gave me the wrong room type, clearly taking advantage of me being a foreigner who doesn't speak Italian. The room itself was a disaster. I was shocked to find that the blanket on the bed didn't even have a duvet cover! Who knows how many people have used it? The sheets didn't look clean either. The room also had a strong, musty, old smell, like it was from another century with no modern updates whatsoever. The windows were hard to operate, but that moldy smell was truly unbearable. The bathroom drain was also clogged. Breakfast was mediocre, and the staff serving it were incredibly rude! Seriously, avoid this old hotel at all costs!

The hotel has a charming, vintage feel and is about a kilometer from the train station. They still use old-fashioned metal keys, which you have to hand in at the front desk when you leave. Breakfast is quite simple, and the dining area is a bit small. This stay, I got a room with a terrace, which was really nice.

The room key was quite unique, though a bit heavy, so I left it at the front desk when I went out. On the downside, some parts of the hallway had stairs, which was inconvenient with luggage, and the room wasn't soundproof.
