White Bay

We stayed at this resort for several days. The best part is that the hotel is located on the sand. The rooms were just ok. The on-site restaurant is terrible. We actually left every day to go out for dinner. They also served breakfast, which was almost average. The staff is not very helpful. The parking lot is a nightmare. The cleanliness is at best average. The hotel is on the sand, but we learned after we arrived that there were apparently several storms that brought seaweed ashore. In fact, the seaweed was at least a foot thick and covered 90% of the beach. We would walk off from the balcony and step on seaweed. It would have been helpful for the hotel to notify guests of this situation, but no notification. Despite having a hotel on the sand, we were forced to go to beach clubs elsewhere for clean sand to sit on. I wish I had taken a picture to attach. It was a very disappointing stay. I am not sure if I would go back there again.

We stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and loved it! We hyped it up so much and couldn’t wait to return. Brought along another family with us raving about the beach and sea steps away. Well, we were extremely disappointed this time around, it was a huge let down. There is no sand, only mounds of seaweed. I understand seaweed is natural but the hotels to the right all had clean sand which tells me our hotel decided to neglect their part in the clean up for their guests. I have attached a few photos and in one you can see the hotels in the background, nice and clean. We had different stories given to us about the government coming to clean but again, we were the ONLY hotel with an unpleasant dirty beach. It’s just a shame because the water is so incredible and we know what it can look like, to pay a decent amount of money each night and get an unkept area, which is what you’re coming for, is disappointing . Also, constantly being wakened up by an awful noise. Not sure where it’s coming from, some sort of machine or pump maybe? Not sure but what a let down.

Not at all what was shown on the pictures. We had booked a room with direct access to the beach, and it was said that the hotel offered sunbeds and umbrellas. These had to be booked early in the morning at a cost of 15 Euros. The beach was a public beach and we experienced people sitting practically at our door step. We were staying over a weekend and also a public holiday, the beach was packed with people. The beach was also partly cover in seaweed. We were informed that it would be cleaned after the weekend, but didn’t happen until Wednesday, and it was not completely cleaned. There is a nice restaurant on the roof, but no other restaurant in the neighborhood. Do not stay here unless you have a car. Breakfast was excellent, amongst the very best we have seen in Italy.

The property is stunning and the staff is very friendly. Having the beach right there is perfect. Would definitely go back again!

This hotel could be great but fell short on so many levels. At breakfast for example they bundled the buffet food together. I have an allergy to pork which was touching the eggs. When I asked for them to make fresh eggs they said it would be an extra fee. So basically unless I paid again I would not have breakfast. Additionally it’s advertised as a beach resort but they charge you for the use of chairs. In the end after speaking to the manager they waived the fees but I think their overall customer service and policies are ridiculous and the experience was ruined.

The staff were great, we were late arriving and the called restaurant to get us in. Parking was a change for some reason.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and had a lovely, romantic time. We hadn’t traveled to Sicily before and were a little nervous about the reviews this hotel had received. However, we didn’t experience any of the issues described by other travelers. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and chatty. This includes everyone from the reception team, breakfast team, cleaning team, beach team—everyone was great! Carol, who checked us in on the first night, had set up beautiful honeymoon balloons in our room, which really made our stay special. One of the reception team members (sorry we didn’t get your name) helped us deal with a parking ticket, which was very helpful! This is not an international tourist resort, so don’t expect everyone to speak fluent English. To be honest, this adds to the charm of the place. It’s a real hidden gem, and I’m surprised it hasn’t been discovered by the world yet! The location is beautiful. It’s a public beach, so there will sometimes be people there early or late, but we always managed to find a spot. It’s fairly quiet apart from some music one night. We had a beach balcony, so we could run from our balcony straight into the sea! The rooms are more beach-style but come with plenty of amenities such as toothbrushes and sleep masks. The bed is very, very comfy! Breakfast is out of this world. It features every type of Italian pastry you could ask for—ricotta-filled croissants, doughnuts, cakes, savory items—very incredible! Fantastic coffee and friendly staff. Breakfast is served with a view of the sea in a lovely restaurant. We would recommend having a car if you stay here, but we found some fantastic local restaurants in the area serving Sicilian food! The restaurant at the hotel is a bit more high-end but offers beautiful wine and pasta dishes if you’re looking for something a little more formal. The spa—wow! We were lucky enough to experience it, and what a treat. This is a beautiful sea-facing pool with various steam rooms. It’s cooling, relaxing—everything you would want! This resort was perfect for our honeymoon. We had the best time, and it was really made special by choosing White Bay to stay. Thank you to the whole team for your hospitality—we wish we could be back there now.

We wanted to cancel the booking after reading some bad reviews online but they wouldn't let us. Regardless, we managed our expectations beforehand... Facility: 3/5 very basic. We added an extra bed and they put the smallest single mattress we have ever seen on the side of the room. Cleanliness: 3/5 the floor isn't very clean. We stayed for a few nights but don't think they changed the sheets. View: 4/5 nice view. Beach: 4/5 Direct access to the beach. However, it's public so the beach isn't too clean. Convenience: 2/5 hotel is far from everything. We don't drive so we ended up spending hundreds of euro every day. If you don't have a car, don't stay there. Service: 3/5 receptionists don't speak English very well. Not sure if it's the language barrier but they don't come across as friendly. Breakfast: 2.5/5 very average food for our taste. Limited selections - bacon, scrambled eggs and pastry. P.S. no complimentary water. They charge for the bottled water in the room.

Great staff and clean - unfortunately water cockroach visited us but guess to be expected. Staff was phenomenal at resort
