"We spent 4 nights in this agroturismo which is only a name. We were extremely disappointed given the price of the room, 500 euros per night. The deckchairs are torn around the pool, the wooden terrace and the pool are aging. The bathroom fittings need to be completely redone, dirty, covered in scale which is detrimental to the proper functioning. The bathroom equipment (towel holder and toilet paper) is rusty. There is mold on the ceiling. They did not change the towels during our entire stay. The breakfast lunch is totally industrial, worthy of a truck driver in France. Brioche in a bag, industrial bread and jams, concentrated orange juice... No espresso possible in the morning. It is an American coffee in a thermos. The towels provided for the beach are tiny and very old. There is no decoration in the hotel and the furniture is very aging. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the owner who did not question herself at all. We did not have a single commercial gesture while we did not have the breakfast that we paid for in the price of the room. Really shameful and the agroturismo spirit is far from this establishment"

Casbah Formentera Hotel & Restaurant

"Casbah Formenetera is such a beautiful hotel and they have so much right. The rooms are simple and perfect. The gardens and the overall maintenance are faultless. The food and the restaurant ambience is incredible. Just one but, which is that the staff were mostly unfriendly. Not rude or arrogant just unfriendly. We barely ever received a smile or hello except for one receptionist who was super helpful. Initially I thought it was because we were English but then it seemed like most people received similar treatment. The staff did seem to work very hard and maybe its been a long season but it was a shame to feel so unwelcome."

"We could summarize all in few words......location 5 on 5, just i front one of the best beach in Formentera, structure 3 on 5 it's a 2 stars so you can't ask for a luxury structure but the recent refurbishment aligned the hotel with the standard. Hotel management and service 1 on 5. Some example to justify a so bad evaluation: the first 2 days on 7 weather is bad, you stay in your rom but there is a bad smell, sewer smell. We complain with the reception we ask to change the room: feedback, all the hotel is in the same condition it depends on the weather condition, weather is changed, bad smell no. Second example, in the shower you have dispenser for shower gel, shampoo, hai conditioner, good choice, green one, it's pita that dispenser is empty, we asked to rifill it bit in 3 days it was impossible. Cleaning service is done by few persons, our impression is that they don't care it i n the correct way.....a missed opportunity "

Gecko Formentera, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World

"Pure magic. Had read some of the mixed reviews and almost didn’t book Gecko but am still thanking God that I did. This hotel left me in a daze; the property was pure bliss, huge lawns, plentiful pool chairs and bali beds, no “minimums” for the best ones, beautiful dining room with amazing food, and best of all INCLUDED beach chairs right on the most sandy stretch of beach on Playa Migjorn. I visited a few other areas of Migjorn and many of the other hotels “on the beach” are really on rock and coral beds, not sandy parts. The room was confortable and well-appointed, balcony had a great view even for the basic room. The staff were probably the best part, especially the head waiter in the restaurant and front desk staff. They greet you by name and remember your room number, they make you feel like a regular who has returned home. I cannot recommend this property enough. Front desk will also reserve pool or beach chairs for you if you ask the night before but I had no problem getting one at all even with the hotel full. The beach chairs being right on the sand and included for hotel guests (contrary to prior reviews) was really a huge bonus!"

"The beds are incredibly comfy and wonderful staff, we had a very relaxing time and loved discovering Formentera. The food is delicious and very big portions, wonderful atmosphere. Very quiet even though the hotel was full. Thank you for having us we will be back!"

"First off, worst value for money. The quality of rooms, facilities and service for the price is disproportionately poor. Website doesn’t reflect the reality at all. Service at restaurant is at the mercy of one or two hosts. They may or may not take your order depending on their mood for the day. Some rooms don’t have safes installed, some rooms only run boiling hot water in shower, some rooms lack curtains in bathrooms exposing you to passers by, etc. Overall, it’s a terrible rebranding exercise. Buy an existing hotel with a good location, do a few touch ups, hire PR, get a few reviews and charge way too much…. I doubt will have any repeat clients."

"We just returned from our 4th visit to this wonderful hotel complex, and can't wait to return. Yes, the rooms are dated and could benefit from a refurbishment also a/c installed but if this was to happen I'm sure the price would increase significantly and be out of our budget. We find the rooms more than adequate and can't understand people moaning about the rooms when it is so often documented on reviews. The food is excellent and we never had a problem finding something to our taste and never had to que for a table. The whole site including the pool and bar areas were all kept spotlessly clean. All the staff from reception to bar to restaurant and the maids and gardeners all work very hard and long shifts but alway had a smile and a cheerful manner. Thank you all for a lovely relaxing holiday."

"Me and my partner went to this hotel feeling content we had booked the right one but also knowing there were other nice ones on the island. We had such a bad experience in a significantly more expensive hotel the previous year in Sardinia that it had scarred us and we were both sceptical on what this one would be like. However after finishing the week we could not be more happy with our stay and both agree it is by far the best hotel on the island considering location as well. Sure there are other big names like dunas and teranka but they are far from main towns and this was perfect - only 5 minutes walk to the beach / es pujols We are both fortunate enough to have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world so please understand how refreshing it was to stay here. Every single member of staff was phenomenally friendly - they all looked like they genuinely enjoyed their job, the hotel felt safe, all facilities were modern and working to a high standard, everything was spotless and being constantly cleaned which is a big big must (hygiene is so important), the food was pricey but wow it was incredible and worth every penny especially as they were not lacking in quantity (not pre heated nonsense just genuine quality you could tell was made in a kitchen), the spa and gym were stunning and had everything you need including ice bath which is a big green flag to have at a hotel, the garage was large and very secure, the pool area was again spotless and very good, drinks and cocktails all amazing, buffet breakfast could have had more options but also enough variety to have no complaints about…the list can go on and on and on but there was so much value for money in a really perfect place with amazing staff, hygiene, quality, service etc I may never return to formentera but if I ever do I know exactly where I’m going. I’d recommend to any family or friend going and tell them to go nowhere else. Great place wow!"
