I booked this stay due to my AC going out unexpectedly. My daughter and I share a home together with her beautiful 4 kids - 4 months old, 2, 3 and 7. The evening the AC quit my 2 year old had a 104 fever and I’d been in the hospital overnight a few days earlier. I wanted our family to be comfortable and looked forward to taking the girls poolside for a few days and treating them to a getaway! My reservation somehow (along with one other traveling mother w/5 kids we met) inadvertently took me to the North property that had NO pool. I called Taz since I’d not slept all night with the heat and concerns over timing. He assured me he’d get me in for just a 25$ early check-in. I was there in 30 minutes..Lol. He sent me up stairs to 325..mistake #1 we walked in on a little bootie call. I’d forgotten my wheelchair and it was a long walk up to 325 and down. The first floor had been renovated since my last visit years ago and its light Texas Theme featured Texas Sized Shaped Waffles - Yummy! I only wished they’d had milk on the breakfast. It was a nice delight however and kids loved that! We were switched to 125 which featured a King sized premium Bed from Heaven as well as a Large Jacuzzi Tub which soothed my mood and a consolation for the kids who’d worn there suits! Id reserved 2 Queen Beds and was wondering how my family of 6 would fit this arrangement. But the kids were smiling at the thought of that Tub! In an hour Taz called and requested we moved that he had a reservation for this room. There was no way I told him I’d move upstairs to the floors that were dark, smelled intensely of pot, sweat, and stale cigarettes down the halls and in the elevator. In 30 minutes he’d found 116 for us to once more transfer all our backpacks and “stuff” too. What a hall! We got in and unloaded turning the AC on quickly it was 🥵 hot! The AC never blew and seldom kicked on more than twice over the next 48 hours. He never made it right either and my sole purpose renting the 2 nights hotel was due to my AC going out my ongoing cancer treatment, 2 years olds 104 fever and my 10 lb grandsons inability to handle the heat at his fragile age. The toilet shut down and they unclogged it and the poor thing shouted back sounding like a bear for several minutes upon flushing it! The TV remote control wasn’t functioning clerk assured us it didn’t need batteries. He wouldn’t replace it either. TV would have helped my tribe of 4 in this one room that had little air flow. My anxiety by the end of the second day left me feeling dizzy, nautious, exhausted! This trips overall cost was $275 with meals and incidentals - what a FLOP! I sure wish I’d had cancelled initially when I encountered the Bootie call when my card open room 325. I’d have just been out the $64.95 cancellation fee! Wyndham Rewards & Super 8 by Motel 6 I’m surprised at your lack of willingness to accommodate my family. I am with certain our needs and circumstances allowed for some upgrade or accommodation due to my Wyndham reward status, my obvious disability, and our need to retreat while awaiting service and repair of our HVAC at home. I walked into the lobby in tears and left the lobby with $26 left to my name. I put my trust and what money I had to my name seeking some comfort and trying to feel better. I left sick!
