Hotels near Praça Santa Luzia, Fortaleza

I had a great stay here while staying in Fortaleza, the room was very comfy with a sea view. Bar and restaurant serve great food and drinks. They do charge your bar and food orders to your room to pay at checkout, which I thought was very useful. The pool is also amazing, great temperature and chest deep. Perfect area to chill around the pool and very close to popular beaches.

The single beds in Brazil are all 0.88 meters. They are used to sleeping 1.2 and 1.5 meters in the country. They are afraid of falling out of bed. But after living in a number of hotels, I found that this is basically the case. I really don't understand them. The Brazilians are so big, they all sleep in such a small bed. . .

Exceptional officials. All cordial. Very clean, very good food. But we had a problem: with the strong rain the hotel was without energy. The generator was not enough for all rooms. We were unconditioned by 24h. We could not open the windows, because the generator is a little below us and the smoke generated by it entered our room. I asked the reception to change the room, because they had air-conditioned rooms working and said they couldn't; I asked a fan to sleep and they had no. Result: sleep (due to fatigue) at 2:30 a.m. with a humiliated towel on my body to try to threaten the heat.In the morning they would solve our problem, but we were already going away. I know that the lack of energy was not the fault of the hotel, but they could have put us in another room, because it was not stuck or then obtained a fan to avoid such disorder. The reception was with my number to the administration to contact via WhatsApp to try to compensate (through discount in the stay), but so far, almost a week later, they did not enter.

Reveillon of 2023 in Fortal was exorbitantly expensive, that hotel was the only one I found at a better price and that did not require closer a minimum daily package. For the photos I didn't expect much and was not connecting for luxury, but when I arrived at the hotel I liked what I saw. simple, but modernized, bathroom, clean, with careful and performing staff, good facilities, good room, good, silenceful and powerful air conditioning, a quite reasonable bathroom and a good acoustic isolation hotel, which has become important because the street in front is very noisy and there are some neighbors in the back street playing music in a terriblely high volume. Another point that was positive for me was the location. Ironically, many people may not like it, but for me it was good, it was going to walk the beach of Iracem, to the Pirate Bar, 3 squares from the center of the Dragon of the Sea, had supermarket, pharmacy, everything near, but far enough from the walled that was the wake, But for those who like the Orla craft fair, he is a little away: the negative points were breakfast, very weak in variety and quality, half bad bed in the room and the Wifi that was unstable and with very slow access.

Location and Access – The hotel is on a prime ocean front position separated from the Praia de Iracema by a busy road. Nearby are many similar high-rise hotels and residences. There are only very limited shopping, restaurant and bar choices within close walking distance. The nearest supermarkets are a 10 to 15-minute walk. Fortaleza centre is 25 to 30 minute walk. Airport is 25 minutes by car – but allow extra time due to a major highway construction project. Close to the Beira Mar with some interesting places and amazing street art. Uber can get you to most places safely and cheaply Google Earth – The hotel can be seen on Street View Architectural Style – A brutal high rise 23 storey building clad in blocks of smoked glass and black and white ceramic tiles I am going to divert from my usual review format as there are issues that have been raised by other commentators on TA which need a response and I think that the hotel management may be in the process of taking action to address these points Staffing and Hospitality – My first hurdle. I don’t speak any Portuguese. Before arrival email enquiries were responded to quickly, professionally and in English. Check in and Check out on 2 occasions went very smoothly and any requests dealt with satisfactorily including storage of luggage during a side trip to Brasilia. Door and security staff were always very welcoming. Housekeeping – invisible but excellent with room and public areas perfectly clean. Restaurant staff equally hospitable with the egg chef even taking time (as well as cooking) to write on guests’ egg orders “Tenha um bom dia – Luana!” Restaurant – Breakfast – Part of my stay coincided with Carnaval weekend when the hotel was full. During those few days the buffet breakfast was very busy and free tables were difficult to find. Despite this the buffet was always well stocked. Comments have been made in other reviews about the contents of the breakfast buffet. I have to say I found the variety and quantity of the international and local specialities on offer more than adequate and combined with eggs, omelettes and tapioca dishes cooked to order was more than sufficient to satisfy any appetite. I had dinner only once during my stay mainly due to the limited menu choice and prices higher than in other restaurants Public Areas – There is a small manicured garden at the entrance and a covered area with seating. The double height reception area looks to have undergone a recent renovation and you would hope to be a sign of things to come. On the ground floor is a well equipped Gym. On floor “J” (first floor) a small pool area, jacuzzi, sauna, play and games rooms. The whole of this area looking very tired and by the time of my departure the pool, jacuzzi and sauna had been demolished and were due to be replaced over a 45 day period 4 lifts serve all floors and I never had to wait more than a few seconds for one to arrive. We had a great stay at the hotel, staff are quite receptionist, breakfast is well varied and a perfect location! The photographer of the Mana presented us with a boat with the family photo and we made a beautiful trial around the hotel with wonderful photos.

O hotel é bem localizado, o atendimento é ótimo, muito bem organizado, limpeza impecável. As instalações são novas, o banheiro é muito bom, o chuveiro é maravilhoso! Café da manhã com variedade e muito sabor! A piscina é bem linda! Toda a decoração do hotel é muito charmosa. Eu amei a estadia lá!

Extra ordinary view!! A perfect view of the whole sky line of fortaleza. And amazing view of the sea! Inn my opinion one of the best places to get a good view from your room, if that’s what makes your vacation more wonderful. The room had great space and was well cleaned! The pool area is a bit small so if that’s what you are after this is not the right hotel for that. A lot of security on both sides of the hotel. And staff were not so good at English, but we were able to communicate. They also charge 150 real for bringing guests to the room. the Breakfast was okey. the restaurant menu was rather expensive. But the view did it for me! Also my main reason for choosing Iate Placa Hotel.
