"Just returned from a week at Grand Hotel and our review is a bit mixed. Positives: Great location to town and beach Lovely and clean Great pool area (despite it backing onto main road) Nice breakfast with a good selection Great cocktails Staff helpful Bike hire available Negatives: Not a 4 star hotel - rooms very basic Safe broken so had to have a key which we had to carry round with us, so a bit inconvenient. Doors had an actual key which you hand in to Reception, don’t think I’ve had one of those for about 20 years. Noisy hotel, lots of furniture scraping, high heels clattering and raised voices from Reception. Room backed on to staff entrance so a lot of coming and going No tea or coffee facilities No bath robes No iron available to borrow No restaurant on site Not standard European plug sockets, these are a 3 pin socket not like the rest of Italy or Europe we have visited. Nice hotel to visit if you’re looking for a 3 star hotel!"

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the beach, making it very convenient for a relaxing holiday. The pool area was beautiful, well-maintained, and a great place to spend time during the day. The staff were always friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and nicely furnished, and we especially loved the amazing views from the hotel. The breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options available every morning. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a fantastic experience!"

"Really nice hotel. We only stayed for one night but it was a good night. The staff were pleasant, breakfast was good, room comfortable and the shower was powerful with lots of toiletries and fluffy towels available. We had a double room with an extra bed for our child and we all slept well. There is a building site next door but we are early risers so it didn’t bother us. The staff were happy to bring us a tray of tea and coffee things to make up some hot drinks in our room. The parking is weird; staff ask for your keys so that they can juggle the cars if they need to. This made leaving the hotel slightly delayed because there isn’t always somebody in the front desk. All in all, a good stay and I’d have happily stayed another night."

"Worth every penny. Highly highly recommended. Like staying in a private home. We have returned 2 years in a row. Relaxed, tasteful and not over the top. Nothing is too much for them. You feel like family. Breakfast is outstanding - lots of fresh fruit. Food menu is simple but excellent and you can eat whenever - but they can book you all the best restaurants around. Now they have the beach club also it is great (although would be better if complimentary in stay!). One year we were both sadly very ill and the staff were amazing at bringing us tea and simple food while we recuperated in the room."

Save your money and stay elsewhere."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Miramonti. The location, the rooms the wonderfull swimmingpool and the personalized breakfast where very much to our liking. We also enjoyed the available bikes that took us to the beach in under five minutes. The warm and friendly staff are always ready to help and open to a friendly conversation. They were also very helpfull in organizing trips to serveral places of interest in the area. We visited Pisa, Cinque terre, Carrara and several small towns in the surroundings of the hotel. A special appreciation to our wonderfull waiter at breakfast, his quote "we do it" when we orderd specific things at breakfast really stuck with us during this trip. Thank you for making our mornings happy and joyfull!"

"Let me start by saying I spent €300 a night and honestly expected much more. Instead, everything is average. The room is average, the breakfast is average, the pool is average (non-existent service and mattresses that were wet the day before and never replaced), everything is average. The final highlight is the hotel's internal parking lot: it barely fits six cars, you have to leave your keys at reception at all times, and you pay €20 a day. Finally, the deals with nearby beaches are non-existent. P.S. And then you can't end every conversation with, "Hey, we're in Forte dei Marmi." Even less so."

"5 star hotel that really is a 4 Star...... staff are very helpful and super friendly, however as is the case with Forte dei Marmi everything has a price: 30 euros for the hotel shuttle, breakfasts are included but if you want cheese on your omelette 10 euros. No pool service until the afternoon and even then its very limited.pool area is very nice but the umbrellas are on such heavy concrete bases that its impossible to move them.Shade then becomes very limited as there is no-one there to help. Bedrooms are clean with metal shutters for total darkness and bathrooms very well equipped. We had dinner in the hotel and the chef is excellent as is the menu. In general i would say that Forte dei Marmi is probably the best town anywhere to holiday with children. However you have to know that there are many extra charges that get tacked on to your bill. Late shopping until 11.00 pm is a pleasure but again the restaurants in town never seem to be " on your side".... its more that they want your business and generally are always rushing you off for their next seating. Every hotel has bikes and that is a real pleasure for use during the day or night. This resort is not glitzy or full of the beautiful people but a nice change from all the other seaside resorts along the coast."
