This hotel was my choice for the Chinese New Year holiday.
Room Amenities: The room was clean and practical. My window overlooked the Qiandeng Lake food street, which was great for Chinese New Year – if I ate too much and didn't want to go downstairs, I could just watch people set off fireworks from my room.
Breakfast: The breakfast was delicious, but even at 10 AM, we had to fight for seats, it was so chaotic! Given it was Chinese New Year, there weren't enough staff. The service in the breakfast area was very kind, but not professional; you could tell they wanted to help but were overwhelmed. Too many guests, not enough seating.
Dinner Buffet: Much better organized than breakfast, and the food quality was good.
Service & Activities: For Chinese New Year, there were many lively events, like the God of Wealth giving out blessings. I kept running into the God of Wealth handing out candy in different parts of the hotel. On the first day of the New Year, there was a lion dance performance throughout the hotel, which I watched from start to finish, so I didn't even need to go to Zumiao Temple. You could even take photos with the lion! There were so many activities that you couldn't possibly participate in all of them unless you stayed exclusively within the hotel.
I really want to give a shout-out to all the young ladies in the Executive Lounge. From afternoon tea to late-night snacks, they worked so hard to serve everyone. While we were relaxing in the lounge, we saw them constantly refilling items, running around, and yet they still maintained a smile and asked if we needed anything – so thoughtful. They tried their best to meet our needs, which was fantastic.
Just a note: my food photos don't look great, but the food was really delicious, which is why I basically didn't eat out at all during my stay.
