Old grandeur now turned into Chinese investment ? Not sure how to rate the hotel. Staffs are trying to be helpful and accommodating. But the entire (huge) area show signs of an old world that died away years ago.... So there is an eerie feeling with some 170 rooms and long corridors empty. During my visit (for about half an hour) I did not see a single guest. I toured the place, but did not stop to eat or have a coffee. So i could be wrong. But feel this place need customers!!!

First of all It smells bad inside the room I stayed. And they are doing renovation work very close to guest rooms and very big disturbing noise is coming out from the working site at day time. Then they shouldn't have assigned guest rooms close to the work site. I complained about that to a staff but he replied to me that there would no problem. I had to endure all uncomfortableness during my stays. It's nonsense. But the surroundings around the hotel itself was nice.

Stayed here 2 nights and then 1 further night. I was bitterly disappointed with the experience. The service was abysmal - staff unfriendly and don't smile at all. Most of the time it appears to be an inconvenience when they have to serve you. They never have any change no matter what you pay for. We had to pay for our pre booked room on arrival but were told we would be given our change on Check out- we had to ask for our change and then they still tried to get out of giving it. The second time that we stayed we had a very early check out and they were unable to offer a breakfast box even though we had pain $196 for a 9 hour stay. The bathrooms are dirty and in desperate need of refurbishment. The grounds and pool area are long over due for attention. When ever we ordered dinner we had to have a second choice ready as first choice was never available. Staff expect a tip for EVERYTHING. It is a 10 minute walk to Aberdeen beach which is ok for an afternoon stroll.

A few days ago our Company was invited to attend the African Development Conference co-Hosted by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture with other Development agencies. This hotel is HUGE and from within their gigantic Conference centre where we pent most our Time, you can see the Sea from your toilet windows and better views from within the Halls.

The restaurant supervision is very poor. The staff there are too young and unprofessional. They only care about the leftover food for themselves. There are too many flies settling on the meal, when a range of meal gets finished from the serving bowl, thy do not care to replace. I think the supervisor of the restaurant must seat up. The rooms are also infested with too much inserts.
