It was an amazing experience for my husband and I. It’s our first time staying in a traditional Japanese style Ryokan and it’s more than what we could ask for. The facilities are excellent, the staff are very professional and helpful, I especially love the food! The open bath on the 7th floor is such an amazing experience!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The view was beautiful, and the location was very convenient. There is a Lawson convenience store nearby, along with several restaurants within walking distance. The lake opposite the hotel adds to the peaceful atmosphere, and the onsen was clean, relaxing, and a great way to unwind after a day of sightseeing.

Love the huge western jap room. Looks new. However the curtain in room should have better black out as the sunrise very early and the room turn bright before 5.30am. Onsen abit old too. Overall wil stil recommend for its location. Plenty of parking lots infront of the lake if self drive.

This is the type of place I will recommend to anyone wanting to stay near Mt Fuji. The hotel was gorgeous. The views from our room and the rooftop onsen were breathtaking. Dinner in your room is such a unique experience. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The onsen was also tattoo friendly! We booked a room with an open air bath and it was something I’ll dream about forever, so relaxing!

Hotel Kasuitei is hands down the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in Japan, and definitely the worst onsen hotel, bar none. I visited during the New Year period. The room had a stale smell, which I could overlook, but then around midnight, as I was getting ready for bed, I found a black mark on the pillow (photo 2) and a short hair that wasn't ours… Then I noticed the comforter was ripped, had small holes, and was stained – incredibly unhygienic. I'm guessing they don't change them. I was going to call the front desk to get a new set of bedding, but my family said it was too late and to tell them the next day. The thought of it being so dirty kept me up all night. The next day, when I told the front desk, they just gave a perfunctory 'I'm sorry' and asked why I didn't say anything that night… The dinner was unappetizing, the cake tasted strongly of artificial cream, and I even found a piece of white plastic in my breakfast (photo 4)… I knew the staff wouldn't do anything about it, so I didn't even bother mentioning the foreign object in my breakfast. I was just speechless. The hygiene is terrible, and the food is awful. If you want to pay to experience dirtiness and poor quality, this is the place to be.

This hotel's biggest advantage is its location, right next to Nanhu Zhuang. It also has an on-site hot spring bath. The room facilities are a bit dated, but since it's a Japanese-style room, it doesn't feel too bad. However, the value for money is somewhat disappointing, and the service is far from as attentive as hotels back home. We arrived at the station at 10 PM and asked the front desk to send a car to pick us up, only to be told the shuttle had stopped running and we could walk over. Check-out is as early as 10 AM, and even extending to 11 AM costs an extra 3000 JPY. There's no laundry room or gym (outside of the rooms). Well, when you're abroad, sometimes you just have to make do.

The perfect stay if you are looking to stay in Lake Kawaguchi for a few nights! The room was spacious and very comfortable! We had a nice view from our balcony! The onsen facilities were also great! Would definitely stay here again if we are ever in this area of Japan.

Room was super nice and have the lake view. Location was super good for walking along the lake plus taking cable car. Dinner was so so but they offered us a compliment wine, it was a surprise. Souvenir shop had many offerings. Only drawback was the onsen at basement was a bit strange at nite.
