Breezbay Lake Resort Kawaguchiko Reviews

Excellent hotel with a view of Lake Kawaguchiko. The room is quite spacious, and the staff is very welcoming. The hotel has an onsen, which is essentially a sauna and a hot spring pool, perfect for relaxing after a day of cycling. We booked a room with breakfast and dinner included, both served buffet style. For those not used to eating fish, rice, and other Japanese cuisine in the morning, there are also European croissants, jams, and coffee available. For dinner, the buffet features unlimited crab, but you'll have to contend with the Japanese guests for the crab claws – it seemed to me they choose this hotel specifically for that reason! The cable car is just 30 meters from the hotel, which will take you up a small mountain with a great view of Mount Fuji. It's also quite close to the bus station, about a 10-12 minute walk.

The hotel is located on a hill next to the cable car entrance. The drive up is quite steep, and the entrance area is a bit narrow with limited parking. I booked a package with breakfast and dinner. Breakfast included a minced raw fish rice bowl, while dinner offered crab legs, shabu-shabu, beer, and wine. The room was old but not too bad.

The accommodation is near the lake, but I had to pay for the onsen, which I didn't use because I was with my 6-month-old baby. The onsen fee for infants is 1000 yen. Please check with the hotel again regarding this.

The staff here was friendly and good in English. Can communicate and understand what we need. Highly recommended the location of the hotel is near to the bus-stop also, from both directions. And the view was nice can see the Kawaguchigo lake but without Mount Fuji, because if the direction. Hotel breakfast was buffet style, various type of choices and Japanese food to pick!

Traditional Japanese hot spring hotel with beautiful lake side view and experienced front desk. The hotel is located just near the famous Tenjozan cable car station and quite easy to access to other attraction site on foot or by riding a bicycle. A 90 min all-you-can-eat hot pot buffet is provided during the stay as well as the delicate Japanese style breakfast. Hot spring can be found in each guest room and on the 2nd floor for public use as well. Overall, I am quite happy with my visit to the Breezy Bay hotel.

This is not a hotel, but a day-boarding school type facility. They want your shoes removed the moment you step into the hotel, which I understand they want to keep their carpet clean, except the carpet is a standard one, nothing fancy. I don't understand the fuss they make around shoes that much. Extremely unfriendly reception staff. If you ask for anything, their answer is NO. in fact, NO seems to be only word they learnt in English. THEY DO NOT LET YOU STAY IN THE HOTEL LOBBY AFTER 11AM. I had to sort out my travel to Tokyo, so I checked out of my room at 10am and was sitting in the lobby when staff told me to move out of the hotel at 11am. WHAT IN THE WORLD? What is the damn purpose of a hotel lobby? When I questioned them if they advertised this 'policy' anywhere on their website or third party aggregator website like trip.com/booking.com etc, they simply shrugged and were adamant to throw me out at 11am. 3-4 staff members came and stood in front of me, trying to intimidate and force me out of the hotel. Being in a different country, this was extremely scary for me and my family. If a hotel can do that to their PAID guests, imagine the level they can stoop to. God forbid, in an emergency, they would have left us on our own. The hotel thrives solely on its location, which is the only plus, and also why I chose this one.

The room was excellent, with a great view of Lake Kawaguchiko.

I had came to this hotel at 2025, in 2026 I have a planned to visit this hotel again but cannot.

The hotel is old an outdated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is very good.

Ugh, what can I say? I seriously couldn't believe the entire hotel uses oil heaters for warmth. When I checked in, there was a strong oily smell in the lobby, and I just assumed it was from the big heater there. But then the smell was really strong in my room too. Plus, oil heaters make the air incredibly dry. On my very first night, I woke up in the middle of the night with a dry, scratchy throat.

Terrible man at front counter. Didn’t appear to be aliases that all rather just an angry man who was totally unhelpful.

I saw some negative comments but our experience was very nice. The dinner is good.

It's located on hill and very inconvenient for big luggage to check in. Secondly, need to take off shoes and change slippers to go in to hotel at all time. Surely your shoes will be at lobby area cabinet and need to exchange every time when you are out and in. Hot spring tax 300yen will be charged regardless of if you use or not too. Other than that location wise ok and view is great from room.
