I stayed on a business trip last Thursday. I made a reservation at ”Penthouse” because I made a reservation in a hurry in the middle of the night before. The hotel is newly opened, the facilities are new, the room is very spacious, the service staff is very polite, there is a parking lot in the building, and you can apply for free parking at the front desk of the hotel after taking the parking ticket. The only downside is that the hotel front desk is on the 16th floor, but it is necessary to go up the main entrance elevator on the 3rd floor. Stayed in Rurikoh for 3 nights. I have to say this hotel is quite popular with tour groups and most of them stay here on their way to see Central Japan. The hotel is a bit dated but still clean. All things are large here to accommodate the big crowds - ie Conference rooms, lounges, hotel lobby and restaurants and even the Public Onsen is large. We stayed here to experience the onsens and were not disappointed. There is one indoor + outdoor Public bath, and one private bath. We didn’t try the private one as its chargeable, so we went to the public one only. By staying in Rurikoh, we can even go to the sister hotel, Hatori, to experience their onsen baths there. There are 2 public baths there and many private ones. When we compare the 2 onsen baths, we find that Hatori’s is newer but smaller. Rurikoh’s has its charms and I am sure it used to be the best in the 80’s. Rurikoh has the larger bath and when crowded, you don’t see much of other bathers. As for the room, it is rather dated. We booked the twin room, western style Type A and it was large for Japan Standards. We didn’t take the meals options as there are plenty of Izakayas and restaurants if you drive around. Most restaurants charge less for food and if you dont mind driving around instead of eating in the hotel, you can save quite a fair bit. As for amenities, the hotel is very generous with things like onsen towels, use of Yukatas, water moisturisers, plentiful of toothbrushes and combs. As for the service, staff here are very courteous and they speak English well. One good point with the service is that they will park your car for you and bring it to the front every morning without you even asking. Overall, for the price that we paid and the service and amenities that we got, i would give this a 4star.

I like Yamanaka Onsen and used to go there often, but I learned that Yamashiro Onsen has a world, so I decided to go there this time. Yamanaka is a rather calm place, whereas Yamashiro Onsen used to be a hot spring resort mainly for large banquets and had many large accommodation facilities, but it seems that Yamashiro was a hot spring facility that people quit when large corporate banquets stopped. . I was very happy that the front building of Kai Kaga, which is a tangible cultural property, sends out visits to hot springs. There are many young staff members, but they are very smiling and hospitable. It was fun to feel like they were trying their best to respond. The power of the lion dance, which is a first for local music, will surprise and move you! I think my partner was scared lol. The outside temperature was high, but the bath and indoor bath were a little lukewarm and the air conditioner was on so I took my time in the bath. The dinner was delicious, and I appreciate the hospitality of Hoshino Resorts and the thoughtfulness of the staff in dealing with my partner's dislike of ingredients. It is inconvenient to wash your hands in the dressing room next door. The bathroom space is relatively narrow. The water is also slow. There is a handrail for the elderly to use by the bed in the western room. It is very considerate. The western room has a comb and is very comfortable. The room is fully equipped. One berth and two meals are ”going to eat”. The restaurant is first-class decoration. Although the waiter is older, it can be communicated in simple English, and it is very enthusiastic. Considerate. The large bath on the top floor of the main building can see the stars, very beautiful. The open-air windy guest room and villa also have a dedicated windy, the interior decoration is very new, there are massage chairs. In the evening, there are stalls in the hotel lobby for guests to play. The hotel has a lobby for guests to rest, free coffee, tea, etc. There are also hot spring eggs for guests to enjoy. Overall, although the hotel price is not cheap, but the service and environment are really good.

The location is very convenient from Fukui Station. I moved by limousine bus between Komatsu Airport and Fukui Station, but there is a roof from the bus stop to the hotel, and you can reach it without getting wet even in rain. Although the building itself is old, the room did not feel old enough and was able to stay without any inconvenience. I was personally happy to see YouTube on TV. The exact price is unknown because it was a reservation with a set with a ticket, but it was able to finish it quite cheaply.

While the bathroom and vanity top seems really outdated, the beds and carpet were new. The 2 queensized bed was so comfortable and very spacious for our family. The hotel has no kitchen and does not have a breakfast option. There was a arcade section with claw machines that could keep the kids entertained. This seems to be a family oriented hotel.
