Yamaneya Ryokan

It was a rural inn, for better or for worse, but I was able to relax.

The bath, the food, the room, and the landlady's personality were all great.

I stayed at Yamaneya Ryokan and enjoyed the hot springs. The room was purely Japanese style. I sat cross-legged on the tatami mats, which was nice for me. There was a large hot spring bath. It seemed to be from their own source. It felt like I was in a hot spring, and I could enjoy the water soaking into my skin. There was hot water and lukewarm water, which I like. I could take my time in the warm water. I went into the hot springs many times, twice before dinner and once before and after breakfast. The hot springs were great. Dinner was sumptuous. We had wagyu beef and yellowtail shabu-shabu. I thought the appetizers were quite sumptuous. There were five types, including pork rolls, lotus root with scissors, and salmon pie. These went well with sake. The sashimi was also sumptuous, with large shrimp, sea bass, and tuna. I quickly parboiled the yellowtail and ate it with a refreshing ponzu sauce. The yellowtail was quite large and delicious. The wagyu beef from Fukushima was fatty and soft and delicious. I felt happy eating these while drinking sake. The breakfast was also sumptuous. It included fatty salmon, steamed vegetables, boiled greens in hot spring water*, freeze-dried tofu, and more. It was a breakfast that went well with rice. For a breakfast at a ryokan, it was really delicious. A very satisfying dish. The hot springs and the food were both great. It was a great place to relax.

I was very satisfied with the hot spring, food, and service. Access: Take the Fukushima Transportation bus bound for Tsuchiyu Onsen from the east exit of Fukushima Station, get off at "Tsuchiyu Onsen" (about 40 minutes), and walk for 3 minutes. There is one bus per hour. Thankfully, if you make a reservation through Yamaneya Ryokan's website, you can also apply for a 2-day free pass between Fukushima Station and Tsuchiyu Onsen at the same time. The fare is free. It's a great service. On the day, you can give your free pass by saying your name at the Fukushima Transportation bus ticket window (located in the corner of the bus stop at the east exit). Room: It was a 12-tatami Japanese-style room, but it was well-maintained and clean. There was a toilet with a washing machine and a unit bath. There was a refrigerator, TV, water heater, etc., and the Wi-Fi signal was strong and I was able to communicate without any problems. Hot Spring: They don't offer day-trip hot springs, so it's good for guests to take their time. There are three baths: ① a large bath, ② a medium bath, and ③ a private bath called "Kami no Yu". Among them, ③ "Kami-no-Yu" is a free private bath that can be used anytime if it is available. The spring source is different from the other baths, and it smells of oil. However, according to the inn, the amount of water varies greatly depending on the season, so it is not always available. When I visited, I was lucky to be able to use it. ① Large bath ② Medium bath Both baths are large enough to accommodate dozens of people, and each has a large open-air bath with a great atmosphere next to it. The medium bath smelled a little of oil (the spring source is different from Kami-no-Yu). In any case, it is a pleasure to be able to relax in the large bath and bath. ・Food Dinner was very delicious, but I felt that the contents could have been a little more ingenious and distinctive. Breakfast was impressive with items such as steamed vegetables, and was very filling. ・Other The innkeeper and young innkeeper were friendly and very warm. In the morning, you can drink coffee (for free) in a place like a lounge next to the reception desk.
