Iizaka Hotel Juraku

The food was very good and the staff were very helpful, so I had a comfortable stay.

I visited Juraku with an old friend on a hot spring inn tour. Since I was there, I decided to stay at the SORA. Our room had a private open-air bath and shower. There was a bed in the bedroom. There were chairs and a table on the balcony. There was an elevator and smoking room for the SORA building. We shared the large public bath. The accommodation building was quiet and we didn't encounter anyone, and the facilities were excellent. However, I was disappointed with the dinner buffet. The breakfast was comparable in quality and content to a regular business hotel breakfast buffet, so I wouldn't have any issues. However, the dinner buffet was of a very poor quality. All I could eat was sirloin steak and grapefruit. I gave up on the soba, pizza, sushi, beef stew, and Chinese food after just one bite. When I booked, I was worried that the quality of the buffet might be poor, but I was right. The facilities were fine, so I think it would be nice if they offered a plan without meals that allowed me to eat nearby.

The live kitchen is very good. The Chinese food is authentic, the steaks are tender, and the pizza is always freshly baked. In the morning, omelets and rice balls are freshly made, and there is a wide variety of bread. There are various baths and shampoos to choose from. There are souvenir shops and general goods stores in the building, so it's fun just to look around.

I visit several times a year. I like the delicious buffet for breakfast and dinner, which has a wide variety of meals and allows you to eat what you like. Also, for my mother in her 80s, who has weak legs, the availability of beds is also a criterion for choosing an inn or hotel. I am having a very good time, but the elderly man in a suit at the entrance to the dining hall does not say hello and just looks on from a distance. Even when I greet him, he is sulky. Is he standing there for the naan? This one attendant makes me feel uncomfortable after eating. I was there two out of four times last year. Everyone would feel better if he didn't stand there. The cleaning staff also dispose of things that are not in the trash can. These are things like towels that were hung on a hanger. I don't think he means anything because he is an old man from the countryside, but I felt that he needs to be supervised. I think the young people, both men and women, are very friendly.

The staff were all very friendly. The hot springs were excellent, and the buffet was also very satisfying. The steak for dinner and the bread for breakfast were delicious. I stayed on a weekday, a Wednesday, so it wasn't particularly crowded and there was no time limit, so I was able to eat at my leisure. My room was a Japanese-Western style. Being a long-established hotel, the building is old. However, it was clean and comfortable. The bath is accessible via a connecting corridor to the adjacent public hot spring facility for day visitors. Only guests are allowed in after 10 PM, so if that bothers you, it might be best to go later. There are lockers with locks, and security is good. There was a shampoo buffet, but I wish there had been a few more options. Personally, I liked the cloudy water of the standing hot spring, its heat, and the atmosphere. It was an inn I'd like to return to.

This was my first time staying at Iizaka Onsen Juraku. I think the first impression is important. Upon arriving at Juraku, the front lobby (Welcome) had a nostalgic, calm atmosphere and was very comfortable. The breakfast and dinner buffets had a wide variety of menu items, and the owner made rice balls for me in the morning. I would like to stay here again.

There are no recreational facilities around Iizaka Onsen, just a public hot spring. It's just a bath, a meal, and a walk. So it might be good for people who want to enjoy hot springs. This hotel only accepts solo stays on weekdays, so I took a paid day off and headed there. The hotel was relatively large and could accommodate up to 7 people (!), but some of the Japanese-style tatami rooms looked down on the river, giving it the feel of a ``hot spring inn.'' In addition to the [Hanamomonoyu] bath, which is also used by day-trippers, there is also a bath [Yurari] that is exclusive to guests, where the men and women change at night and in the morning. Yurari offers a variety of hot springs and has a more luxurious feel than Hanamomo, but there is little guidance inside the facility and I was the only user at night. It's a waste. Women can only use it at night, so please come and join us. Meals are buffet both in the evening and in the morning. In addition to local specialties, there is also a wide variety of creative dishes that will make you want to eat everything but can't. I like the taste, it's not too strong and not too sweet, it's well balanced. All the staff were kind and talked to me. I had a lot of fun even by myself.
