A traditional hotel approx half an hour walk to the Old Town but with steep hill so might not suit older person to walk. Room was spacious with large balcony and had fabulous views of the sea and garden. Room cleaned daily, very comfortable bed & lovely hot shower. Continental breakfast, had to eat inside as there were pigeons on the patio. Joes bar on the premises & an English bar across the road. Got the airport bus, €6.50 each & got off at stop 10. Would stay here again.

The room was simple but very clean. The hotel restaurant offered delicious banana swordfish and macaroni. The service, in particular, was outstanding. During check-in, they provided a thorough introduction to the facilities and even personally guided us around, explaining everything (perhaps because the beachfront pool was accessed via the back garden). Just as we were checking out, we witnessed a guest in the lobby suddenly choking. The front desk staff quickly sprang into action, performing the Heimlich maneuver and saving a life. All in all, everything was fantastic. Their high occupancy rate seems well-deserved. Thumbs up!

Wonderful experience and the best hotel during our stay in Madeira. Perfect price and value proposition with a staff who are really customers oriented and friendly. Smaller hotel what is never overcrowded. Nice charming design elements. Very good breakfast with selection of local cheeses and meat. Real juice would be the only needed improvement and some pastel de Nata for the breakfast would add to the mandatory Portuguese experience. Otherwise 100% perfect stay. Excellent swimming pool with sea water. Yes. The rooms are somewhat dated but super clean and comfortable. I didn't came here to see golden chandeliers so l was super satistied! Excellent location and direct sea access. What more could one look for??

A charming hotel with classically styled rooms. The staff is friendly, and the grounds are well-maintained. It features two saltwater pools. The breakfasts were delicious, and restaurants and cafes are within walking distance.

Funchal is wonderful! We're so grateful to our hotel; its central location meant everything was within easy reach: restaurants, interesting sights, and the waterfront. The building itself is historic, and the rooms have a lot of character – each one even boasts a unique door. The breakfasts were delicious, and there's a pool as well. The hotel also offers many great spots for beautiful photos! We were extremely pleased!

An absolutely terrible hotel. 1. First off, there are two hotels: one beachfront, one with garden views. The address listed on Ctrip was for the garden view property, not the beachfront one, which caused us to go to the wrong location. We ended up walking for ages to reach the actual hotel. To make matters worse, every time I tried to book an Uber, the hotel simply wouldn't show up in the app. Beyond frustrating! 2. Upon check-in, I was assigned a room at the very end of the corridor. You could practically see right into the room from outside, which meant we had to keep the curtains drawn constantly. 3. The room itself was horrendous! All the facilities looked like they belonged in the 1980s. Even the towels felt like they'd been used for a century, completely worn out and faded. To top it off, there were no dental kits provided. 4. The location was absolutely awful! The soundproofing was incredibly poor; you could hear every car passing by on the street, and even people walking and talking in the corridor were crystal clear. 5. And finally, the staff were incredibly unhelpful. It felt like they couldn't understand even the most basic requests.
