Overall, we had mixed feelings about our stay.
The room was amazing—very spacious, with nice wall and floor finishes, and a large bathroom. We loved it. Breakfast was also lovely, with plenty of choice.
Unfortunately, the room could have been cleaned better. We found stains on the bidet and shoe prints on the floor, which wasn’t what we’d expect from a 5-star hotel.
Our biggest disappointment was that the hotel is marketed as a relaxing hotel and spa, but it is clearly aimed at families with young children. Breakfast featured entertainers dressed as cartoon characters, and even the discoteca was playing music for children. Several couples, including us, arrived and left shortly afterwards.
The spa was the biggest let-down. Children were allowed throughout, and after 4 p.m. it became noisy and chaotic, feeling more like a water park than a spa. We saw children eating in the spa, one diving around the jacuzzi with goggles while adults were trying to relax, and even witnessed a mother wiping her baby’s nose into the spa water.
What makes this even more frustrating is that the hotel has extensive facilities, including three outdoor swimming pools, a dedicated outdoor children’s water park, and the Golden Rock Spa. With so many family-friendly facilities already available, I don’t understand why the spa—or at least one outdoor pool—couldn’t be reserved for adults only, allowing guests seeking relaxation to enjoy the experience they paid for while families would still have plenty of options.
There is nothing wrong with being a family-oriented resort, but the hotel should make this much clearer. If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing spa break as a couple, this is probably not the right choice. For the price we paid, the experience simply wasn’t worth it.
