Clean and well-kept rooms, cheerful and helpful staff, beautiful location, food is also above expectations.

We stayed 2 nights and had a fantastic stay despite the bad weather on the first day. We received great services from the resort management team Mr Karl, Ms Siti, Mdm Lydia also from the restaurant and recreational team members. We look forward to be back again!  Booked the family suite that is beautifully furnished and got a fantastic view of Mt Kinabalu from the room as well as variety of fishes swimming below us.  Snorkelling and kayaking are complimentary for the entire day and was great way for us to explore the beautiful waters.  On the last day, we unfortunately left our tablet in the room and we were notified immediately upon arrival at the jetty and the resort arranged it to be delivered to their jetty office within the same afternoon.  Overall it was a great experience and the welcoming and departure greetings by the management team were certainly memorable and beyond our expectations!

The service was excellent. The staff know us by name and were always ready to make our stay comfortable. The view was spectacular. Once you set foot on the Gayana Marine Resort, you will be one with nature. The environment just calms you down 😁

Amazing stay. Lots of reviews about trash in the water. While we did see some the staff were also very good at cleaning it up. The restaurant was very good and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Beautiful snorkeling right outside the rooms.

Enjoyed our stay in this resorts. It’s like a small Malaysian maldives. Perfect service! Thank you manager Karl for everything! Lot of activities all day, such as kayaking, tour to the mangrove jungle, snorkelling, diving or just relax on the pool. Breeze villa very comfy and large. Kids also became a part of saving coral area of Gaya island.

My partner and I just had three nights in a Palm Villa at Gayana Marine Resort! What a place to stay…. Simply amazing! Right from the start everything was perfect. We arrived at the ferry and the staff were really helpful. The ferry left on time and took less than 30 mins. On arrival we had cold towels and a drink. Everything was fully explained by the staff and we were taken to our room about 30 minutes early. The Palm Villa was gorgeous!!! If you can spend a little more and have this room it’s worth it!! I was speechless when I walked in. Super clean and tidy! The online photos do not do this resort justice!! We ate at the Macac Restaurant. There was lots to choose from on the menu and everything tasted fresh and delicious. Breakfast is included and everything was made fresh to order. There was also a buffet which had pastries, fruit, cereal and lots more! We made use of the water sports which are also included. We used the kayaks and paddle boards. Lots available and you just turn up and ask, no need to book! Every single member of staff was lovely!! Everyone greets you, is very polite and they can’t do enough to help. Their English was impressive! We had only booked two nights but loved it so much we extended our stay!!! I highly recommend this place and hope the management see this review to pass on to staff. Truly a very good place to stay. Restaurant was also impressive and service simply perfect whatever you need... a bit pricey probably. At the end excellent

V Good place to stay

Such a beautiful place to relax and chill! I highly recommend for couples or solo travellers who want some peace and alone time! what a place to relax! Most of the travellers stayed for a day, but i stayed for 3D2N. Managed to sleep in and rest the first day and did snorkelling/kayaking on the 2nd day. 1 thing to take note: for this booking of accommodation is just the resort by itself. therefore there isnt any other food or stores around it! other than it's own restaurant (for some might be expensive) so bring your own snacks and drinks if you're like me hungry in the middle of the night 🥴 Other than that, this is a beautiful place! def a good place to visit and disconnect!

Nice room, nice environment, and the sea view is a must when visiting this resort. But don’t stay longer than 2D1N because there is nothing much that you can do on this island.

Complaints 1. The hotel does not allow any water, snacks, fruits, etc. to be brought into the room without prior notice, and they are not sold separately on the island 2. There is no wireless network in the hotel room and all areas of the hotel (only the hotel front desk area has unlimited) 3. The hotel's life jackets are broken and lack a strap 4. The most unacceptable thing is that the room is full of ants and flying insects, whether on the bed, table, sink, sofa, or even in the suitcase. The point is that I was woken up by insects countless times in the middle of the night and could not rest properly 5: The above content is all true and there is no exaggeration. Everyone comes out to enjoy themselves, not to experience life. I spent 2,700 yuan to buy such a hotel, facilities and services. It is really the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel is on par with Maldives, with complete facilities. The sea is very beautiful when the weather is clear. The service staff are very friendly. The food is beyond expectations, large in quantity and very delicate, in line with Chinese tastes. Recommended
