Gotyk House

This hotel has so much character! Our room was split-level, and Amber Street was right downstairs. Step outside and you're immediately on a bustling food street. The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of all the main tourist attractions. The only drawback is the absence of an elevator; if you're on a higher floor, lugging your bags up can be a real struggle. Also, it can get a little noisy.

We arrived at the hotel around 9 AM for check-in. However, since our room was likely vacant the night before, the friendly front desk staff member allowed us to check in early. (This was a stroke of luck and not something to expect, so please don't make unreasonable demands!). Upon check-in, we also received a magnet featuring the hotel's exterior, and the milk candies left on the towels were absolutely delicious! The hotel is situated right next to St. Mary's Church, with Amber Street just outside. There are many beautiful and affordable amber jewelry options available to buy as gifts. The main square is just a 5-10 minute walk away, offering a wide selection of restaurants and bars. The river is also not far. A Rossmann store (similar to a drugstore/supermarket hybrid) is only a 3-minute walk away, where you can buy all sorts of daily necessities. Gdańsk Głowny train station is a 20-minute walk away, or a taxi ride costs approximately 10-15 PLN. If you plan to use Uber or Bolt from the hotel, you'll need to walk a bit further to an outer perimeter to set your pickup point. Overall, my personal stay experience was excellent. However, as the hotel doesn't have an elevator, it might not be suitable for elderly guests.
