Hotel & Gasthof Furberg

Great garden where you can sit right by the lake. Staff friendly and helpful, food very good - recommend Mozartkugel for dessert. We had 5 drinks but the tap water was charged for with the wine and that was for a consumption of € 125.

First of all, it should be mentioned that this hotel is a real eye-catcher. The location is optimal, isolated! The reception is extremely helpful with any requests (solstice bonfire, boat trip). Thank you very much for that. The rooms are very spacious, attention is paid to the little things, like the mini bishop's hat in the toothbrush glass!! Hospitality is a TOP priority here! The staff in the garden and in the restaurant, especially the men, are all great!! A consistent team that knows each other, you notice and feel that. One gentleman who was very calm and always found the right words in a highly professional, calm manner was a real positive, someone has to try and imitate that!!! The cuisine is magnificent, tradition and modernity combined, it doesn't get boring after a few days! Great enjoyment that other decorated restaurants don't offer at this level. Definitely! Big compliments to the whole kitchen!!!!!! We met the head chef personally and expressed our thanks, thank you very much for the kind words, it was a lovely chat, it was important to us to also compliment them on what goes on behind the scenes. From around 11pm you can experience a lot of peace and absolute silence (if that still exists anywhere in the world) directly by the lake or while walking along the barefoot path. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back to this wonderful place. Many thanks and best wishes to all the people who make this place what it is!!!

There are only a few places that are as idyllic and traditionally Austrian as Fürberg. Not even the regular boat spoils this paradise, because it only runs between 10am and 5pm. The terrace on the lake is fantastic, the menu is regional and the wine selection is appropriate. Friendly service. The hotel in the neighboring building is rural, balconies with a view of the lake, a private garden with privacy screen and private access to the lake make a stay a pleasure. Highly recommended!

The bay and the Hotel Gasthof Fürberg are two of my absolute favorite places. Whether for a quick detour to eat on the terrace on a trip to the west or a nice week's holiday on the lake. Not even the numerous tourists that the ship washes ashore, the cyclists or hikers really bother you here. The menu is regional with a focus on fresh fish from the lake according to centuries-old fishing traditions. The rooms are comfortable, a balcony room with a lake view is recommended. Wonderful peace in the evenings and mornings, because there is no boat traffic between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. The view sweeps over the green-blue lake to the Zwölferhorn. A few steps on the lake promenade and you can see St. Gilgen in the morning sun. What more could you want? I'll be back! Highly recommended!
