This is a self-check-in hotel, and they send the codes to your email – one for the property entrance and one for your room. The problem we encountered was with room 102. When we tried to enter the code on the doorknob, the light wouldn't turn on, so we couldn't input the code to get in. We contacted the hotel, but they insisted there was nothing wrong with the doorknob and that we just didn't know how to open it. In reality, that wasn't true; the doorknob for room 102 was indeed faulty, preventing us from entering. We spent about an hour trying to get into the room and asked the hotel to come look, but they refused. Finally, we had to contact Trip.com. The Trip.com staff were excellent; they coordinated with the hotel and provided full assistance. In the end, the hotel let us switch to room 106, where the doorknob worked perfectly, and the light came on as it should, allowing us to stay for two nights. The hotel has four shared bathrooms, a refrigerator, a microwave, a sink, a hairdryer, and a self-service iron. The location is excellent, making it very convenient to walk to attractions.

The hotel staff were unwelcoming. There were many mosquitoes in the room. When we reported the mosquito problem, the hotel only suggested changing rooms, but there were no actual mosquito control measures in place.

Clean and decent enough. Recommended if you're not spending much time at the accommodation and just need a place to sleep. It's cramped for two people but fine for one. Definitely better than a capsule hotel. Air conditioning works great.

Overall, this accommodation offers great value for money. The location is excellent. The bed is soft and comfortable. However, if you're looking for a very quiet place, I wouldn't highly recommend it. But for us, it was fine; it wasn't excessively noisy. We'll definitely choose this place again on our next trip to Penang.

This hostel in George City offers great value for money, and it's a private room! Self check-in is convenient, and check-out is by 11:00 AM. The location is excellent, making it easy to find good food nearby.
