Victoria Garden Hotel

The room was clean but small. The location is excellent, within walking distance to everything. The room was also clean, but it's a bit much to charge extra for bottled water. The convenience store downstairs closes very early, and I had to walk about 3km to find a gas station just to buy water! That was a really bad experience!

This hotel in George Town has a convenient location, easily reachable on foot after getting off the boat, and close to a bus stop. It's nestled in a small alleyway. The drinking water provided is really bad, and they're quite stingy, only giving one bottle. The room is small but relatively clean. Some front desk staff can speak Chinese, but it's a hit or miss. Housekeeping isn't very proactive; they often just empty the trash and don't replenish anything. The hotel offers a very basic breakfast, pretty much the same every day. By the third day, I couldn't stomach it anymore. The toast with kaya jam was delicious, but everything else was just average.
