Big hotel, old facilities anyway my Japanese room style was clean and ok . breakfast and dinner was good. There are many kind of food but limit 90 minutes for dinner and 1 hour for breakfast. There are many customers so the hotel has to split in to rounds. Overall average but I think it’s overpriced.

Very nice hotel with old charms, amazing experience with the cable car elevator. Bar and buffet both offers nice meals. Public bath is spacious. Highly recommended!

**Cons:** - I had a disappointing experience with one of the drivers. He was very rude and had a bad attitude, especially when we couldn't understand his Japanese. Even though we didn't understand everything he said, his demeanor made us feel uncomfortable and negatively impacted our stay. **Pros:** - The hotel's location is very convenient, with shuttle service available. - The views from the hotel are beautiful. - The facilities are well-equipped and very clean. Overall, while the hotel has many positive aspects, the encounter with the driver left a sour note on our experience. I hope management can address this issue to ensure future guests have a more pleasant experience.

the place is famous, for thailand theater shows, foods in many varieties but cant say good. when we check in we are greet by a front desk clerk,with no smile, and tired face.and since i was a foreigner but good in japanese, communication did not go so well though he is not nice explaning everything. but the foreigners workin there is so nice. the ofuro is good but can say not what we expect. in the morning we check out staff were all good and smiling.

Huge room, comfortable beddings, nice settings & decoration. 2 mins hotel bus transfer to Gero station, easy access. Yet after arriving hotel, not much choice for entertainment & food.

Comfortable stay

Very good experience and staff are very professional especially Mr Taku Yamada as he went the extra mile to accommodate my request to provide me western bed instead of rokan. Hotel is very nice clean n unique with pulley type lift. Good buffet spread. Definitely a good value for money stay.

We try to stay at a ryokan on every trip. Armenia in Gero isn't exactly a classic ryokan. It's more of a ryokan hotel. There are classic Japanese-style rooms with futons, and there are also standard rooms with beds. The hotel is large, with 14 floors. We had a room on the 10th floor overlooking the river and city. It was a beautiful view. Getting to the 10th floor is a bit of a challenge, but we're young and energetic, so it was convenient for us. Basically, you take the funicular from reception to the 8th floor (it's slower than the elevator, so keep that in mind), then you walk along the 8th floor to the elevators in the new building. There are no stairs or complicated passages along the way. It's a slight climb, and that's it. Then you take the elevator to your desired floor in the new building. A bus will pick you up at the train station and take you to the hotel. They can help you at the nearby tourist center, which is what we did. It's a three-minute drive, but it's always quite uphill. You can also request a ride to the city center (to another tourist center across the river) for a stroll. We walked from the train station, and it was a wonderful walk with beautiful views. Now about the room: ours was about 30 square meters, with four futons. It had a toilet, a bathtub (the hairdryer in the bathroom was useless; powerful hairdryers were in the onsen, which is where we dried off), and a balcony. There was a table with welcome tea, cookies, and waffles in the room. A kettle and a safe were also provided. Each person in the room received a yukata robe, an obi robe, and a small bag of toothbrush and toothpaste. This bag is supposed to hold a towel for the onsen. There was also a yukata cover for the cool evenings. Women and girls are offered a choice of yukata in a more interesting color at reception, which we took advantage of. We had the buffet, which we chose mainly for the children, and it was a good choice. Upon check-in, you'll be asked to choose a time for dinner and breakfast. You'll be asked to choose a time for dinner and breakfast at check-in; there are two options. At dinner, you're assigned a table, and a waiter will escort you to it. In the morning, seating is free. The buffet is very varied and good: fruit, pastries, ice cream, meat, pizza, pasta, lots of national dishes, hoba miso, seafood, sashimi, and sushi. There was no hida beef on the buffet. Breakfast was also good; we were satisfied, and the children found something they liked. Onsen. There are two of them – on the 8th and 2nd floors. The 8th floor has an outdoor plunge pool with views of the mountains, river, and city. It's also newer. The water is simply amazing, both in quality and temperature. This morning, I had the chance to be in the onsen completely alone. There's also an outdoor onsen on the second floor, but there's no view, just trees and sky. Inside, there's a jacuzzi, which was way too hot for me—just an onsen, an ice bath, and a sauna. What we didn't expect to find in a ryokan was a sauna :) Overall, I can confidently recommend the hotel; everything is wonderful.

Stay in this 4 star hotel from 16/04/2026 - 17/04/26. We were by car and arrived at 6:00 pm! The Shuttle bus driver saw us and was very good and directed us to park at parking lot 2! When I checked in at the counter, the staff only asked me to pay ¥700 in hot spring tax and accommodation tax and returned my receipt! Very clear! The dinner buffet is scheduled for the second round at 19:30. The hotel rooms have no air conditioning, only heating! After we shut down, the front desk staff gave us a floor fan! The most courteous prepared hot and cold kettle each! In the morning, the outdoor hot spring listening to the birds singing and the fragrance of the trees is simply the joy of life!

It's not in the hot spring town itself, but a little way up into the mountains, about a 5-minute walk from Gero Station. There are a lot of hills, so it seems they'll provide a free shuttle bus if you call ahead. The hotel is large. There are large public baths on the 2nd and 8th floors. The hot spring water is slippery and leaves your skin feeling smooth. Breakfast and dinner are both buffet style with a wide variety of dishes, and it was all very delicious. The room was also clean and I was very satisfied.

It's a somewhat dated hotel, but the hygiene facilities are quite good. In comparison, the hot spring facilities are a bit smaller than I expected. A shuttle service is available to and from the hotel.

The buffet dinner was plentiful, and at HKD 1400 for a night with two meals, it was quite good value. However, I had to pay an additional 4600 Yen at checkout, which felt a bit like being ripped off. The hotel has an elevator that's angled, but it operates very slowly, so you might have to wait a while. The hotel has two hot springs, one on the second floor and the other on the eighth floor.
