Sakura River Side Stay Gero Onsen - Hostel

It was satisfactory for the price. The owner was also friendly. Since your satisfaction with a hostel depends on who you sleep with, you should take that into account. The accommodation itself was satisfactory and nice. Everything else was clean, but there was a lot of dust at the head of the bed. I wiped it off before going to bed. Thank you. The rooms are all private and have open floor plans.

The hotel is located by the river at the foot of the mountain, close to the hot spring street and commercial street, and only a 20-minute walk to Gassho Village. There are many convenience stores and commodity stores around, so shopping is easy and the location is very convenient. The room is Japanese style, and you can directly see the river and distant mountains outside the window. The proprietress speaks good English and is very friendly. She explained very carefully when checking in, and also gave chocolates. The accommodation includes breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is Western bread with bacon and eggs, with freshly squeezed orange juice, and coffee is available after the meal. Dinner is BBQ grilled pork chops, which are very large and can be paired with bread or rice. Drinks can be beer or soft drinks. There are public and private hot springs. I chose the private hot spring for the two nights I stayed, and the experience was not bad. Worth recommending

The room is very comfortable and well-equipped. The lady boss is very friendly and will take the initiative to deal with the problems raised. She is patient. The Western breakfast and dinner are great value, and beer is also provided. The hot spring is very smooth and soft.

The overall environment of this hot spring hotel was okay, but I was only told upon arrival that the capsule bed I booked did not include the hot spring access♨️. I don't want to complain anymore; whether it's discrimination or something else, I don't want to say more, because overall, my experience in Gero Onsen-kyo was just average. Thankfully, Ctrip was great; they immediately subsidized the hot spring access. Thumbs up to Ctrip! 👍

Located in the hot spring area, 10 minutes walk from the station. Dinner was grilled pork chops at the restaurant next door. Check-in must be before 18:00. The only drawback is that there are no hot spring facilities.

The accommodation is clean, the view is beautiful, and the owner is lovely.
