It’s 12 mins walk from the Ghent-damport train station and 18 mins walk to city center. Very hospitable staff and friendly fellow travelers. I also recommend the 5 Euro breakfast.

I just needed the towel. Everything was great. Staff were friendly, people living in the same room were also friendly and nice. We enjoyed talking to each other. The facility was managed very clean and seamlessly. I would really recommend the stay. Also, the view from the room was great!

The room was clean. The bottom bunk bed was cramped, so the top one was more comfortable. It was a six-person room, but there were only two of us, so making the bed wasn't a problem. While making the bed, I noticed a stain on the duvet cover that looked like a food spill. It took five minutes for hot water to come on. Other than that, I have no complaints. Tourist attractions are within walking distance. Tram fares are expensive for Japanese people, so I walked about 30 minutes to Gent-Sint-Pieters Station to save money.

This youth hostel in Ghent is quite quaint. You can store your luggage. Since we arrived early, we put down our luggage and went out for a walk early in the morning. Ghent is a very distinctive city and it is worth spending a day to visit it.

The only problem was that there was no elevator and the spiral staircase was not a fun to climb with heavy luggages. Other than that, everything was good. No ac but they provided a powerful fan. Some lockers were not working properly. Toilet slightly smells but overall fairly clean. Staff friendly. Some of us arrived outside of reception time (arrived between noon and 1pm) but the staff still opened front door for us to leave our luggage. The kitchen is nice and clean.
