Location is great. It is located on the quieter part of the island if that's what you're looking for. It is 100 m from the beach. Although not located on the west coast, sunset can still be viewed from the beach closest to the hotel. A few restaurants closed by, although they are more the upscale ones.
10 min bike-ride to the town, easily doable with our kids, around 10. Advise here would be to stick to the routes proposed by Google. Those are the main streets which are well lighted. If you venture into some other streets, there is no guarantee of lights and road conditions, and that can get challenging after dark.
The hotel is simply lovely. We had a villa. The pool was great to have a dip, and for the kids to have some splash fun but not for swimming, it's too small. The room was lovely, very neat and tidy, plenty of space for the 4 of us. The kids loved the outdoor bathroom with fish pond.
The breakfast was really good and tasty. The only complaint I have is the portion. It's ordered from the breakfast menu, the portion is just sufficient. For those who prefer to have a bigger breakfast, it wasn't really enough.
We forgot to pack torch lights for the bike. Only on our last night, the personnel at the hotel offered lights for our bikes upon seeing us going out when it was getting dark. At check-in, no one mentioned to us that those are available to borrow. The conditions of the bikes were indeed not the best, multiple times we encountered problems with the bike for our kid. Luckily it always happened when we had someone nearly who could give us a lift back. Only on the 3rd day, after having to fix the bike twice, a different bike was given to us.
All in all, we absolutely enjoyed our stay there, and would consider returning if we ever go back to Gili T!
