Britannia Inn Glasgow

Staff were not great, ignored on arrival for 15 minutes while they talked, sent to 3 different rooms none matching the booking we made then had to wait 30 minutes while they made a room to booking (1 double and 2 singles). We had to request items for the room such as additional towels as there weren't enough for all of us in the room. Asked for extra coat hangers as there was only 1 in the room and nowhere to hang our wet coats - promised but never arrived. Room wasn't the cleanest and the bathroom smelt. Everything was very dated in the hotel. Breakfast was ok but not great. Location was good but also very noisy and windows did not open to let in any fresh air. View from room was ok. Wouldn't return or recommend.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Toxic smell from the bathroom filled the room making me feel sick. Stayed elsewhere most of the 10 day booking. Not as advertised. Dirty inside and out. No fridge and lied to about getting one for the room-pictures in advertising have fridges in rooms. Room not cleaned the whole stay. I had to request fresh towels and put my bin out. Bedding not changed. Shower tap got stuck on and was blasting out. Denied a refund. Immediately contacted staff on arriving to my room about smell and no fridge, was told no manager on duty over the weekend. Contacted Trip.com who informed me there is in fact a manager on site. Trip.com offered money refund of $400 then changed to coin credits.

Its a decent enough place, where I have lived in 2023 during my masters, now in 2026 rooms are old, smelly and messy and as always the receptionist is not nice

Unfortunately, it was not as expected. The service was quite poor, and was disappointed with the overall experience.

it was very bad experience over there. we spent two nights and literally something coming from bed wood and cut to me and my husband. there is some sign on his chest and arm. first time we came here it was too bad here.

Was very unwell, and the staff here weee fantastic, They could have been in there rights to charge me for extra night, although they kindly gave be a couple of hours, to better. Fantastic, and very fair of them 👏 💯🌟🌟🌟🌟

I forgot that the Commonwealth Games had started so obviously this hotel felt justified in hiking their prices. I appreciate it was a Saturday night but £266 is extortionate as far as I'm concerned. On the positive side the room was clean, tidy and the bed was comfortable. The lifts worked well and the location to the city centre was excellent. For the most part the staff were helpful although not exactly the friendliest I've encountered. Overall I'd recommend this hotel but not when big events are taking place as the price doesn't match what's on offer.
