Initially we chose the Hampton by Hilton due to price and the fact I am a Hilton diamond member. While the location was OK, I would have booked elsewhere nearer to the train station as we seemed to be there every day. I asked about a room upgrade on check in but was informed all rooms were the same. Which wasn’t true as the other two couples in our party had rooms at least 30 per cent larger. Our shower just dribbled water, no pressure. Our room wasn’t cleaned two days out of five, no explanation given. The hallway carpet had three rubber bands on the floor near our door-after the first day we just wondered if they would be picked up. They were still there on checkout. On the plus side, breakfast was good and as a diamond member we received a good discount for any other food or drink (including alcohol). Overall, the property is okay, but for the price there are better options.

We stayed here for one night and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The water in both the WC and the washbasin was not draining properly, making the bathroom extremely difficult to use. I reported the issue to reception and asked if we could change rooms, but I was told that no other rooms were available and that the problem could only be fixed the following morning at 9:00 AM. In the meantime, we were asked to use the common washroom, which was very inconvenient and not something you would expect when paying for a hotel room. I would strongly recommend that the hotel regularly checks the WC, washbasin and other bathroom facilities before allocating rooms to guests, as basic facilities like these should be in proper working condition. The breakfast was also quite disappointing, particularly for vegetarians, as there were very limited vegetarian options available. Overall, our one-night stay was unfortunately not a pleasant experience.

Booked this to go to a concert. Very convenient the shops were behind us and main train station less than 10 minute walks. We was able to check in early. Anyone can as-long early as long rooms are ready. Q-park literally behind it , safe parking. The breakfast was included was a buffet kinda thing was very good.

It is an okay hotel. Breakfast has limited options, asked for filling coffee sachets and tea bags for room during 2nd day stay and told to get ourselves from reception . People working. There not willing to help. Just doing basic job , hospitality totally misssing.

Good location and friendly staff. Self service buffet breakfast and the choice wasn’t great. As a good brand I don’t expect the customer have to clear the table after themselves. The service just ok

The location is excellent from the hotel I must give them that. Everything else was alarming. From check in there’s no warmth from the welcome. Our room wasn’t that clean and we shared that not sure if they came to clean. But the entire 4 days we were there no vacuuming of the room even after we told them it was dirty. Our second day wasn’t cleaned nor the bed made and they left dirty towels on the floor. I was nightly offended by this hotel. We even considered checking out early it was so unbearable but we couldn’t get reimbursed. It’s very important to read reviews before going places. It’s not bad for everyone but for us this time we were unlucky. I don’t think I’ve seen this coldness at a hotel.

Hampton by Hilton, Glasgow Central is located on West Campbell Street and this truly is right in the heart of the city centre! Located just around the corner from the bustling shopping street of Sauchiehall Street, you’ve got everything you need at your disposal within walking distance of this hotel! Even Glasgow’s Central station is just a short 10 minute walk away - ideal if you’re coming in from another such as Liverpool like I was! A double room in this hotel is a fair size. To maximise on the space, Hampton by Hilton have removed wardrobes and cupboards and have replaced them with walk-in spaces. It works - the L shaped room can feel a little cosy at first, but once you’ve passed through the corridor, the main area where the bed and TV is feels quite spacious. The breakfast provided - which is free for all guests - is to a great standard. Make sure you try out the fresh waffles which come as standard in Hampton by Hilton hotels. The breakfast area isn’t huge though, so if you come around 8.30/9am, space might be limited! There’s also a fitness suite in the hotel which has a good range of equipment available. No windows in there though! Some areas for improvement - the room could do with a bit of refurbishment as the furniture is looking quite tired in parts and there are a lot of scratches and dirty marks on the walls. The room is very functional rather than a luxurious stay. Having said that, Hampton by Hilton is not marketing itself as a luxury brand. It’s firmly in the budget hotel bracket, probably at a similar standard to Premier Inn - which certainly isn’t a bad thing! Another thing to note - if you stay here during the weekend, it could be noisy. There are three nightclubs right near the hotel and on a Saturday night, the noise didn’t stop until 2.30am and this meant we didn’t get much sleep one night. However, the staff were very helpful when we flagged it with them the next morning and gave a credit for a free night’s stay at any Hampton by Hilton! All in all, this hotel is a good base to stay whilst exploring Glasgow. It’s functional, it does the job and you’re going to be well fed during breakfast. True, there are areas for improvement, but this shouldn’t impact your overall experience too much!

The hotel has good size rooms which are nice, modern and clean, however the lobby is a bit small and the breakfast basic. The breakfast room feels a bit like a cafeteria.
