My fiancé and I were planning a birthday trip to Glasgow and I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel. This hotel came up and was much cheaper than other options. We were certainly not disappointed! The staff, from the receptionist to the bar and restaurant staff, were excellent. They were very friendly and helpful.
Since it was my husband’s birthday, we received a room upgrade and a complimentary drink for both of us, which was a lovely touch. As we walked to our room, the hotel was clean and tidy and smelled great. The room itself was absolutely gorgeous. The layout was very different from anything I’d ever seen.
The amenities were great. There was a small fridge, a modern TV with Chromecast so I didn’t need to plug in my Firestick, which I always take on trips as many TVs are outdated or not smart. There was plenty of storage and a safe. And the bed was one of the best features. I didn’t even realise it was electric – amazing! The mattress was actually the best I’ve ever slept on. I’m even considering buying one for my bed at home.
The ambience of the whole hotel was amazing. The lighting was perfect and the music in the restaurant was just right – not too loud or too quiet. The food was lovely. Breakfast was buffet-style with plenty of choices, and we also had dinner at Vega on our first night. The menu was great and the food was cooked to our liking. The service was top-notch!
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Glasgow. You’ll be well looked after. We’ll definitely be coming back and will also visit their hotel in Edinburgh. I hope Yotel opens more branches around the UK in the future. I’d certainly stay there instead of my usual hotel stays at a popular chain.
