Nichols Hole Cabin - Above the Caddo River - Float to your Cabin!

First impression was cabin front porch was dirty. Inside cabin was cute and clean aside from several cobwebs. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking. Back porch and deck dirty. Table broken and lower deck furniture unusable. Would have been a great gathering place with a good view of the river. Cabin is private. Had drive down to river access which we enjoyed.

I really enjoyed my stay with family at the cabin, the scenery was perfect. The walk to the river was easy but the walk up back up to cabin was a good workout, very steep hill. I wished it would have been more quieter on Saturday, I think there was some construction going on all day close by. You could hear machinery and loud noise.

Outside areas were the only areas that needed more cleaning attention. Other than that it was great

We recently stayed at this cabin and had a mixed experience. The check-in process was very easy, and the location by the river was definitely a highlight — the scenery and access to the water were great. The hot water also worked very well throughout our stay.However, there were several areas that could be improved. The furniture inside and outside the cabin was in bad condition, and the outdoor seating especially needs to be updated. Although the listing says the cabin sleeps 8, the space did not feel sufficient or comfortable for a full group of that size. We also expected basic essentials like coffee, soap, and enough toilet paper, but none were provided. There was no propane grill, and the lack of Wi-Fi was a major inconvenience, especially since connectivity was important for our group.Overall, the location and hot water were good, and check-in was smooth, but the amenities and furnishings need significant improvement to match expectations.

The location is beautiful. Feels like you are alone in nature. River water is clear. Swimming hole is fabulous. Wish they would have included pictures of road up to the cabin. The hill is quite a hike from the River to the cabin however the grandparents in their 70s had no trouble when they took it slow up and down 2-3 times each day. It’s about a 5 minute walk up because of the hill. But we loved it and wouldn’t have traded the hill if it meant losing the location. The cabin sits right on a rocky cliff overlooking the River. You can drive up and down but we chose to walk. The few problems we had were addressed in a timely manner. Property was clean and really cabiny. Porches help enjoyment of outdoors although the Outdoor and indoor furniture needs an update. We would go again in a heartbeat.

Very nice cabin, location and hosts!

This amazing little cabin is a perfect place to get away and relax. We had a great time and enjoyed the river..it was just a short walk down the hill and that’s where we spent most of our time. We were planning our next trip before even checking out of the cabin. Thank you for hosting us and we can’t wait to visit again.

We loved the location and the cabin! I will say that the loveseat needs to be replaced and the outside furniture needs a refresh. But we did have a great time and would definitely come back!
