Anna's Guest House

Anna was extremely welcoming and helpful, and we had the opportunity to have some nice chats. This is a great location for visiting the Stalin museum, where Anna actually works as a guide! My room with its five beds far outstripped what I needed haha, but was very comfortable, and the generous serving of Anna's homemade medovik for breakfast was lovely 😊 thank you for having me!

The location of the hotel was very good and the host was friendly. The room was spacious but there was smell of cigarettes in our room. The mattress was too hard, it seem like the spring was broken. Every time we moved, there was a loud noise. We booked the room with breakfast and we're surprised that there was only a piece of cake and one cup of tea for each person. Anyway the cake was delicious.

Having been in Tbilisi for 5 days, I had planned to travel into the Georgian provinces to get a feeling for small town Georgia. I was looking for an authentic home stay to experience traditional Georgian hospitality. My stay at Anna’s place fulfilled everything that I imagined. Although I only stayed one night and we spoke in broken English and Russian, Anna made me feel at home as soon as I walked through the door. After I dropped my bags to go to the Stalin Museum and explore Gori, I arrived back late around 9pm. She cooked a lovely soup for me, offered me coffee, homemade wine and we sat down to chat. The next morning I was up early to get the train and she prepared breakfast (including homemade honey cake) and sorted out my taxi. When I travel, I try to diversify where I stay in each city to get unique experiences at every stop and Anna’s Guest House gave me an opportunity for a day to be submerged into the authentic atmosphere of a house located in a small Georgian town. Anna is a real person and she is investing her soul and kindness into her place providing traditional world famous Georgian hospitality and great personal attitude. The place is huge and Anna is preparing a great breakfast. The sitting area is a common place for all guests where they can meet and chat about their experiences visiting the town. It is also perfectly located close to the most city attractions that can be reached by foot.

Anna is the best host! She was really sweet and made us the best breakfast with some of her homemade delicious cake. We would definitely stay there again if we ever came back to Gori. The location is also really good. A short walk to the fortress and some nice restaurants. :)
