Let’s start with the positive. Very good staff. Friendly, helpful, pleasant, attentive. Food. Burger which although I’ve had better was still pretty good for the price. Great choice of beer on tap. Room. Large double bed, and as 6ft 6, this was a big plus. Room very well set out, furnished etc. very good nights sleep. Now the not so good. Parking. I grabbed the last slot out front on the street but didn’t appear there was anything else. So may have been a real problem. Shower, or should I say sit down bath. Might be great for some, but I was on business and I want a hot shower when I’ve finished travelling, not a sit down bath with a hand held shower head. My wake up shower in the morning was predictably difficult and not an adequate replacement. I understand there are rooms with showers so if this is what you want as a “must have” best to check. The only other room they could offer was a small double. I wouldn’t even be that upbeat about the size . Tiny room, with very limited head room space as it was in eves of the building. Big disaster if I got that one given to me. Lovely spot right by the Thames, so ideal for tourists but for business people I would not recommend.

Held my Dad's wake there and the team were great- excellent catering, good beers and a warm and friendly atmosphere aided by the George Michael piano helped to give him a great send off. Steve and his team were excellent and took the time to respond to our requirements. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Great, honest pub grub. You get what’s on the tin! Can’t understand the nasty comments, especially the spiteful ones mentioning George Michael. Unfortunately, he’s no longer with us and so don”t mention what he would have thought!!!

The staff from the second I checked in were so warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough to help with queries, travel recommendations and dietary requirements during my 7 night stay! The food was fabulous and to have breakfast included (you can choose from a full breakfast menu!) was fantastic value and a great way to start the day. The location couldn't be better - at the meeting point of the three village roads, 30 seconds walk from the Thames and across the road from a lovely park and churches. My room was character-filled and the bed, pillows and leather armchair were sublimely comfortable. Can't speak highly enough of The Miller and hopefully will return one day.

Good traditional pub food, but not the fine dining we expected. Staff were friendly and efficient, food was decent pub food. Unfortunately a customer in the bar was having some sort of dispute and was shouting and swearing, but we were able to move to another area

Enjoyed my stay at the Miller, the bar experience was better than the room experience. The room was tiny as was the tv. The bed was fairly comfortable, pillows too. The staff work really hard and create a decent bar experience. The breakfast wasn't the best if I'm been honest but edible. Im 5feet 8in and if your any taller u might struggle in the bedroom. I can only comment on the room which I stayed in though as the others maybe different. The manager is a likeable guy and was only to happy to help. Would I stay here again? Im not sure. Goring is a wonderful place for a short break, the wildlife is incredible.

The days of fine dining are over now and the Miller is a friendly warm pub with nice private areas, charming young staff and a standard menu of pub classics pl;us a few extras; it does not let you down

Special was French onion soup, which arrived thick gloopy and a lot like school gravy with a slice of processed cheese melted on top, this could have been something special used to be a wonderful place to eat, sadly no longer very disappointed. They sell the fact it was the local for George Michael, but that was when it was under different ownership sure he would not set foot there now !

We love visiting Goring and usually include dropping in to The Miller for a drink and something to eat. The pub is situated in a great setting and is inviting and cosy. There are references to the late George Michael who lived locally and this was his local. I’m not sure what he would of made of our experience today though. We ordered a Sunday roast, I immediately noticed the food wasn’t very warm, but the last straw was the (advertised) half a roast chicken which turned out to be, literally, half a dehydrated sparrow. A member of staff said ‘they would see what they could do’ but rather put off we paid for our drinks and left. Mistakes can happen, but we consider this inexcusable.
