We spent 3 nights in the hotel at the castle park and were very satisfied with the entire hotel offer of this owner-led business. Breakfast and dinner were good to very good, the service very friendly and professional. It is also important to highlight the good location with short paths to the attractions and the old town.

The hotel is just a little away from Erfurt. But you are in 20 minutes by car in the city centre. Parking is abundant and costs 2 Euros per night. The staff is very attentive and super child friendly. The facilities in the entire hotel are modern and extremely maintained. The rooms are very clean and equipped with everything you need. Breakfast was rich and the choice was excellent. The restaurant was very good food. However, we would have wished a small selection of children's foods. If we are back close, we will certainly book this hotel.

Das Hotel liegt am Stadtrand in sehr ruhiger Lage und macht einen sehr gepflegten Eindruck. Parkplätze werden in ausreichender Anzahl vorgehalten. Die Ausstattung ist sehr ansprechend, Personal aufmerksam und freundlich. Aber mit Entsetzen habe ich zur Kenntnis nehmen müssen, daß das Hotel die Thüringer Heimstatt der der SED-Kommunisten ist, die sich in die „Linke“ ungenannte haben, und das Erbe der Grenz-und Mauermörder Partei weiter pflegen. Mitlerweile eine 4,9 % Partei. Da wurde kürzlich der Thüringer Parteitag diese Kommunisten abgehalten, der importierte West-Kommunist Ramelow gibt dem Hoteldrektor locker Interview und der Neunmal schlaue DDR Alt-Kommunist G. Gysi ist Dauergast und wird dort hofiert, und gewinnbringend präsentiert. Über seine Zeit als Aktentaschen Träger von DDR Staranwalt Dr. Vogel wird nicht berichtet, als gemeinsam unliebsame DDR Bürger in den Westen „verkauft“ wurden, direkt aus dem Stasi Gefängnis in Bautzen. Auch über seine Zeit als Berliner Finanz-Senator, nach sechs Wochen, dann hatte er es hingeschmissen, wird ebenfalls kein Wort verloren. Die Verbindung oder Mitgliedschaft zur DDR Staatssicherheit bleibt wohl ewig im Dunkeln. Aber beide Kommunisten haben, einst total unbekannt, Alles richtig gemacht, der eine wäre im Westen nichts geworden, der Andere hat als Quassel*****pe im Bundestag Millionen an Steuergeldern bekommen, nicht verdient. Da kann man nur noch darauf hinweisen das sie Mitglieder der Kommunistischen Nachfolgepartei der SED sind, die den wirtschaftlichen ökonomischen Niedergang der DDR zu verantworten habe, so wie mehr als 1000, eintausend, erschossene Menschen an Grenze und Mauer.

My stay Silvester 21/22, an experience I never wish any other guest! Respect absolute service Desert: no 4 * Classification expect, 1. Station and surroundings - quietly located and beautiful forest nearby, perfect for nature friends and point of start to discover the Th. Forest. 2. Hotel appearance and atmosphere - outdoor area ok , 20 years ago certainly still look beautiful. (But not in principle) atmosphere in the 90s style, few but lovely deco elements can be recognized. Hotel rooms: Suite booked, newly renovated furniture with beautiful wood elements, however wallpapers and hangs old and dirty. Bed with hair picked and bath dirty & dust, (unfortunately technology defect, can happen) Restaurant & Hall: also here in the 90s style, nostalgic who likes it. 3. Silverstergala appearance: , cold & no table deco , 5 gang menu covered and air balloon on the chair, would not be bad in a restaurant. (However for 99,€ incl. 5 gang menu - (was ok and has tasted, but with components that were not even on the map) Glass Sekt, DJ without moderation & function with dance ban (Corona however not communicated before) , Magician reminded me of Max Giermann Magic Show at LOL, (unfortunately the worst arrangement I've ever experienced- Silvester menu would have been the right name to adjust the expectations, Yes I like to pay €99 for an experience and good food, but that was not worth €50. 4. Wellness area and fitness room: beautiful swimming pool with views of the forest (my booking ground) and 2 saunas as well as functional but not lovely relaxing area. (unfortunately not available, at request at Check IN watches, 1 room/h for the entire wellness area Corona ) here would be sauna & swimming pool dividable due to the arrangement. Service - absolute disaster , already at check in could not be made clear statements, at the table swallow - the server went down saying to the kitchen ( who come here and don't even know the dance ban is. (no I asked for the musical entertainment when booking and was pointed to change of band to DJ) a CD would have done it too. Rooms dirty - (reception no idea, look another- OK ). Old suite - yes bath clean but bed with hair- we can have new clothes - (no no housekeeping there) call - (tablet defect, you bring it down to me , I charge it, OK but then it still remains not loadable if......! Personal - dressing different and not representative( for a pension or kneipe -OK) service-oriented equal to zero, unknown and lack of communication, unfortunately believes something unmotivated by management. In Telefonaten im April 2022 betreffs meiner Kritik betreffs unseres Aufenthaltes im April 2022 im Ahorn-Hotel Friedrichroda bat mich der Hoteldirektor Herr Ribberink, dass wir seinem Haus noch einmal eine Chance geben sollten. Dies haben wir am Wochenende vom 20.-22.01.2023 getan. Leider wurden wir wieder enttäuscht und mussten feststellen, dass unsere Kritik offensichtlich kein Anlass für Veränderungen war. Nach unserer Ankunft wurden wir an der Rezeption freundlich empfangen, bekamen die üblichen Unterlagen und die Zimmerkarten überreicht. Bereits beim Betreten des Zimmers war in der Gardine ein nicht zu übersehendes Loch ersichtlich. Über diesen ersten Eindruck leicht verärgert, wird verständlicherweise das Zimmer etwas genauer betrachtet. In den Ecken links und rechts des Bettes waren massive Verschmutzungen in Form von Staub erkennbar, die Tür des Kleiderschrankes ließ sich, wie bereits im dem anderen Zimmer im April 2022, nicht richtig schließen und an dem einen Nachttisch hob sich das Furnier. Auf diese Mängel haben wir an der Rezeption hingewiesen, woraufhin uns freundlicherweise sofort ein anderes Zimmer angeboten wurde. Dieses Zimmer war soweit in Ordnung, auf dem Schreibtisch waren jedoch diverse Flecken vorhanden. Hier bat ich darum, dass diese am Samstag bei der Reinigung bitte mit beseitigt werden sollen. Nach dem Frühstück am Samstag konnte ich feststellen, dass der Mülleimer bereits geleert wurde, jedoch das Zimmer nicht gereinigt wurde und die Betten nicht gemacht waren. Daraufhin bat ich an der Rezeption, dass das Zimmer bitte noch gereinigt werden soll, explizit habe ich auf die Flecken auf dem Schreibtisch hingewiesen und bat, dass die Tische abgewischt werden sollen. Leider mussten wir nach unserer Ankunft am Abend feststellen, dass die Tische offensichtlich abgewischt wurden, jedoch die Flecken auf dem Schreibtisch noch vorhanden waren. Diese habe ich dann selbst entfernt. Die Personaldecke in den Restaurants wird offensichtlich nach wie vor an der unteren Grenze gehalten, die Mitarbeiter sind sichtlich überfordert. Dies zeigte sich vor allem beim Frühstück. Gegen 09:30 Uhr waren an beiden Tagen die Gläser bei den Saftautomaten aufgebraucht und man musste das Personal bitten, diese wieder bereitzustellen. Weiterhin war ständig mindestens einer von den beiden in Betrieb befindlichen Kaffeeautomaten auf Grund von Fehlermeldungen oder fehlender Milch nicht brauchbar. Nachdem ich gegen kurz nach 10:00 Uhr eine Mitarbeiterin darauf hinwies, dass bei einem Automaten keine Milch mehr vorhanden war, erhielt ich die Antwort, dass sich ein Nachfüllen wegen den 20 Minuten nicht mehr lohne. Bei den Abendbuffet's konnte ich ebenfalls keine wesentlichen Verbesserungen zu unserem Aufenthalt im April 2022 erkennen. Wie bereits im April 2022 erwähnt, kann ich hier bei einem Preis von mehr als 300,00 Euro für das gebuchte Paket kein stimmiges Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis erkennen.
