Best hotel for this trip. Great location to central station and easy to walk to old town. Superb breakfast with vareity of choices. Specious room. Grand lobby with bar and food. Reccomend to all friends.

Frankly, I'd seriously recommend anyone reading this review to steer clear of this hotel for the time being. The hotel's location is good, right across from the city center train station, with many attractions and commercial facilities within walking distance. However, there's a massive transportation hub construction site directly downstairs. The traffic routes and facilities haven't been updated in navigation apps, making the road conditions absolutely chaotic – seriously, don't even attempt to navigate it. Also, I have to complain about the room. I never expected it would be so small that it couldn't even fit a single table, which was extremely inconvenient. Other aspects were quite good, especially the breakfast and service, which were impressive.

This hotel was more expensive than any Scandic in central Stockholm or Copenhagen, yet it offered the worst service we've encountered anywhere in Europe. Despite being named 'Gothenburg Central,' its location couldn't be further from central. Walking from the train station required navigating huge construction sites and flyovers (as shown in the photo). There wasn't even a bus stop nearby, making its location incredibly inconvenient. The room was extremely small, with no wardrobe, desk, or kettle, just a few hooks on the wall for clothes. The shower light would abruptly turn off mid-shower, requiring us to open the shower door and wave our hand to switch it back on. On the second night, the power went out after 9 PM. Fortunately, being summer, it wasn't completely dark yet. When we stepped out into the hallway to inquire, another guest mentioned she had just exited the elevator moments before and nearly got trapped. On our final morning, needing to catch a 7 AM train, we went for breakfast, but it hadn't even been set up. It was just one outrageous thing after another.

My recent stay at the Scandic Göteborg Central was a truly positive experience, largely thanks to its fantastic location and the excellent service provided. Being just a short, pleasant 10-minute walk from the central station was incredibly convenient. This made arriving and departing effortless, and exploring the city using public transport was a breeze. The service I encountered throughout the hotel was consistently great. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready with a smile. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient, and any queries I had were addressed promptly and with genuine care. One of the highlights of my stay was undoubtedly the breakfast. The spread was impressive, offering a wide variety of options to suit all tastes. From fresh pastries and bread to a selection of hot dishes, cereals, fruits, and yogurts, there was something for everyone. The quality of the food was also noteworthy, making for a delightful start to each day. Overall, the Scandic Göteborg Central offered a comfortable and convenient base for my time in Gothenburg. Its perfect location near the central station, coupled with the great service and delicious breakfast, made for a memorable and enjoyable stay. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city.

This hotel is in a great location, just a few minutes away from the shopping centre and tram/coach station. I stayed in the family room for 1 night, it was quite cosy for just the night, but it would be small if we planned to stay for longer. The hotel breakfast was very busy and offered a good selection of food. The bed was nice and soft, and I had the best sleep. I even took the covers off to look at the mattress brand. The negative was that there were no complimentary amenities in the room like tea bags, toothbrush, toothpaste or shower cap. But overall, the hotel is extremely modern, and I love the aesthetic. I will most likely be back when I'm in Gothenburg again.

Great service. Breakfast was delicious but you need to book your timeslot in advance. The hotel room was spacious and enough for me to fully open my large luggage. 10-min walk from Gothenburg Central Station.

Wish the room could be bigger. The bedding is not set for the pull up bed. Instructions not clear for ordering meals in room. A lot of constructions ongoing. Causing the route to hotel to be quite difficult with big luggage’s.

The older male staff member at the front desk had a very poor service attitude.

The room was spacious, the lobby was great, and the service was excellent.

My kids and I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room was great, with fold down bunk beds for the kids, and the breakfast was excellent. The only slight downside was that the area between the central station and the hotel is currently having a major re-development, but we had no trouble finding our way to the hotel via the pedestrian diversion route.

Really close to train station and bus terminal, so perfect as for location. Good view at upper floor room, and surprisingly have air con. But no slippers and toothbrush, toothpaste provided so gotta bring your own or buy at reception.

The hotel was good, but the breakfast was just okay.
