Having read a number of negative reviews prior to our stay, we considered cancelling, however we are very glad we didn’t. This hotel does a lot of things right and there really is nothing to complain about. If you’re expecting a 5 star Dubai style hotel, remember this is Greece & you’re not going to get that without paying a LOT of money! To give some context we are a couple (38 & 41 years old). We haven’t booked AI for years as we prefer to have the freedom of B&B to eat out however we did get a very reasonable price for the holiday (via Jet2) so decided it’d be worth it just for the drinks around the pool. The hotel itself looks great, it’s clean, there’s plenty of space around the pools and in the restaurants. The bar area is tastefully decorated and the staff are helpful and friendly. Food and Drinks - The hotel offers a ‘feel free’ concept which means you can pretty much eat between 7am and 10pm utilising the main restaurant, and the pool bar. They have a ‘feel free’ drinks menu with plenty of choice of cocktails, draught beer (Alpha beer) and 3 wines (red, rose and white) all very good. I’m pleased to report the gin and tonic and Aperol Spritz are both excellent. (My go to on holiday!) They do have another menu where you can choose to pay for drinks, but really there is no need as there is plenty of choice. There are 2 restaurants throughout the day, Cantina is the main restaurant, breakfast is excellent, there’s a cooked breakfast, loads of fresh fruit, pastries, omelettes made for you, bread, yoghurt etc. For lunch and dinner in Cantina you order from the app and the food is delivered to your table, although they do also have an ‘anti pasti ’ section you can help yourself too with bread, olives, dips etc. I would advise having a look at the dishes before you order, and having a ‘buffet’ mentality. On most all inclusive buffets you would maybe try 3 things at once, you can do that here too but you’d just have to order 3 dishes. The quality of the food can be hit and miss at dinner but we figured out by having a look at what is being cooked and served beforehand helped us make better choices. The pool bar has a daily menu, you can see what’s on offer on the app. You go up to the counter and order and they give you a buzzer for your table. Everything is cooked to order and you collect the food from the counter when your buzzer goes off. We have been really impressed with the pool food, yes it’s mainly burgers, sandwiches and salads, but it’s fresh, they are big portions and the menu changes daily. Again, try what you fancy. We have eaten in both al la carte restaurants. Both meals were fantastic. The only suggestion I’d make to the hotel would be to give a little bit more information on the menu in the Mediterranean restaurant, we spent some time speaking with the waiter to understand each dish and we were not disappointed. We saw a couple walk in, look at the menu and walk out. The food is fantastic but the menu needs more

We had a great stay and very relaxing stay on this hotel. We arrived late on the hotel due to delayed flight. The reception offered something to eat after checking us in. We also given a surprised room upgrade from double room to swim up room. The staffs are very polite and very helpful from reception, restaurants, housekeeping and bars. Foods are great with a lot of options to choose everyday. I really love the location of the hotel especially the gym in glass wall surrounded with trees. The chorus of “cicadas” makes the place like in the middle of the forest. Highly recommend this place. Cleanliness 5* Facilities 5* Staff hospitality 5* Food 5*

Before arriving we read lots of reviews on TripAdvisor for this hotel. We were worried about what we were coming to. Having spent a week here I can safely say that this was a lovely hotel that deserved its 4 star rating here in lieu of some of the reviews that we found to be particularly picky. On arrival hotel was very helpful, gave us a quick idea of what we needed to know. They saved us a plate of food without request which was very thoughtful. The gent running the desk was always very helpful when we had questions throughout the week. The room was rather bougie. The glass door toilet wasn’t a major issue for us though I see some have commented here on it. Maybe one for a bit further into your relationships!! Otherwise clean and well stocked for the kettle and shower items. The balcony was also nice but found that we didn’t use it all that much due to the time of year. Im not sure I’d go mad for the swim up rooms but that’s each to their own. The pools themselves were very nice. We also didn’t struggle with the sun beds though weren’t lazing around on them for 10 hours a day. The restaurants were great. The main cantina always had a great array of foods for breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner. Catered well to my partner who is a vegetarian. Some of the veggie meals were so tasty I had them myself. Generally the bar there didn’t get too busy either which is a bonus. I see a few people complaining about the app but frankly it was so easy to use. Load it up when you arrive, have a quick browse and you’ll be away. Good to see what’s on for all meals and peruse the other restaurants menus. The pool bar had some great snacks and I’m glad I only tried these the day before we left as I’d have been huge by the time I came away. The grill restaurant was lovely and so was the Italian. Book these early - you can do it on the app or through customer service. The main bar did get busy but that’s par for the course. Often there were 2 or 3 bar staff taking orders. Many of the cocktails are more timely than a beer or wine. No issues on that part. The select menu was big enough that I didn’t desperately feel the need to pay for drinks and the cocktails had a nice range. I don’t think any were particularly sickly sweet like I had seen here. General cleanliness of the hotel was good and found staff kept on top of glass collections. The hotel looked well kept and many of the gardens were well curated. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here. I’d go to another Cooks Club hotel again, especially an all inclusive one. Really enjoyed this stay so don’t be put off by the poor reviews. We spent most of our time in the hotel as local boat trips did end up being cancelled (seasonal and weather problems). We got the bus to Corfu town, Ypsos and Dassia. It was easy, cheap and ran regularly. There is also a few shops and tavernas in the area. The busy road can’t be heard from the room unless you have an overly exuberant horn user. Gouvia isn’t the most salubrious place but

Just returned from a 4 night trip to Cooks Club. Overall, hugely disappointing. Would not recommend or go back. Location Just off a very busy road and the noise travels which is presumably why they play music in the summer months. Gouvia is not the prettiest part of Corfu and to access the beach/shops/tavernas, you need to cross a busy road. Conveniently located for Corfu town (number 7 bus) or 15 minutes drive from the airport (about 30 euros in a taxi). Decor The front of the hotel is fairly unappealing but the reception area has a large number of sofas and has been designed nicely. Seats in dining room very uncomfortable. The hotel seemed relatively clean and modern. Rooms The room was a good size with a small balcony. Decor was nice enough although I am not a fan of open plan bathrooms. The water pressure was poor. Fairly mean in terms of amenities - no Nespresso machine and just 2 tea bags and a few instant coffee sachets, no shower caps, nail files, cotton wool etc etc. Just one tiny bottle of shampoo, conditioner and body lotion (not replenished and not enough for 2 people). TV was not a smart TV which is fairly poor given the cost of them vs the cost to stay in this hotel. Air con The air con is switched off in October and moved over to heating only. As a result, the room is hot and stuffy all of the time. Even if you put the temperature down, it will still blast out hot air. Slept very badly every night. If you want to reduce the temperature, you need to open the door and let all the mosquitoes in (the hotel does not supply anything to deter the mosquitoes, not even a cheap plug-in). We complained to Reception who were unsympathetic and just said that was how they did things in the winter season. Room Service Very poor. No turn down. Nothing replenished and one day they took all the towels. The bed making was terrible, they don’t even pick your pillows off the floor. If you want new bed sheets, you need to strip your own bed. Food As off season, there was just a breakfast service. I had checked with the hotel in advance and was told that they would serve dinner which is not the case. Breakfast was adequate although no fresh fruit, fresh milk, cereal etc. One day they did provide some orange juice but it had a fly in it. One morning i had to queue up behind the cleaning staff to use the one coffee machine - sadly the fact that all the staff thought that this was acceptable, sums up how they treat the guests. Reception The welcome was non existent. When we discovered that there was no dinner option in the hotel we enquired where we could go. The answer was “go outside the hotel and you will find something”! They never cracked a smile or spoke to us during our stay. Staff The biggest let down of the hotel is the staff. They are rude, unfriendly and unhelpful. The manager appears to use the hotel for his own convenience and to let his extended family and friends have a holiday. This included children, e

Well where do I start after planing my 25th anniversary , for the last 18 months I wanted it to be perfect ,after numerous emails asking for it to be extra nice , what a disappointment , if you have read the reviews lately take note , the rooms are very nice , clean but the lack of toilet space is awkward , the mini bar is a extra cost of €120 for drinks we don’t like I did ask if we could have certain items but was told No , we also asked for a gesture to celebrate a bottle of Prosecco was left which was available anyways on AI , that was there effort , beds comfy lighting wasn’t great asked for paid pool view was over car park , the food well it’s probably the worst we have ever had on AI , breakfast was cold every day nowhere to heat up , toaster took 10 mins to brown , the APP to order lunch & eve meal didn’t work for us we either mis read the hotels details or very misleading concept we was expecting food to order fresh cooked but it was already cooked on hot plates to me wasn’t cooked to order false advertising , both meal times food was just luke warm & not really fit to eat , although the team at the pool bar was fab food hot & fast service but menu limited , The hotel staff unfriendly hardly had a smile same with reception , unfortunately this is not a 5* hotel in my opinion , although the pool setting was nice , the lounge sun beds not so , after a week of thousands of mozzis & wasps I was ready for home not nice during the day although the hotel can’t control this it would be nice to mention specially if your allergic to wasps , defo need EpiPens , again lots of cats so you need to be cat friendly as very cheeky and sit on your table waiting to be fed , overall I would not come back to cooks club Corfu due to all the above , defo not people friendly , didn’t raise my issues as I wanted to have a great time , although did mention the guest relations on departure , so please do your home work and listen to peoples feed back

We loved this hotel and the concept behind it Ordering food from the tables and the pool bar meant everything was fresh. The chefs take care to make it look good as well as taste good. This means hardly any waste avoiding people piling plates high with food and not eating them which we have seen in numerous all inclusive hotels. We tried mainly all the greek food on offer where normally we would have walked by in buffet style restaurants but it was delicous. We even had all vegetarian one night and no complaints about no meat. Wife loved the salads and went to both a la carte restaurants and they were great we did prefere the grill. Drinks were great and takes a while to work through the cocktails to find your favourite. Wine drinkable and yes you have to pay for premium spirits but these are discounted. Baileys was 4 euros and double drambuie 7euros so not trying to rip you off. Pool area were goodno issues with beds, we only spent time in the large area but the other looked good aswell. Pools was great for the wife to do her daily lengths as 25m long. Evening entertainment was good we have stayed at other adult hotels and it been very bad this was good and with a few hen parties in livened it up aswell. The rooms were great very sound proof heard nothing from other rooms or the corridor. Beds are firm but ok and air con helped keep it pleasant to sleep in. Only downside we like a walk so went into gouvia it's run down nothing to see and the beach is not good shingle and smelly. The Buildings are very run down so we walked the other way to the little church on the water same smelly and run down. Corfu town ok but your not missing anything if you didn't go. Bus outside the hotel 2.5 euros. Overall for the deal we got for a week including flight under £1300 booked through onthebeach i couldnt have asked for more. Great hotel if I want a peaceful week with good food and drink I'll definitely come back .
