The service was excellent. Luisa was waiting for us to arrive to explain everything in detail, both inside and outside the property, where to eat, what to see... such lovely people. Our room, the Comares suite, was wonderful: a comfortable bed, a huge marble bathroom, and a small but pleasant patio where you could chat outdoors.

The house is old, but very clean. It has a small swimming pool, which is a great experience. You can see the A palace. It's a very quiet and private experience. The breakfast is not available, which is not very convenient. You need to walk down to find a place to eat.

The hotel operates with a self-reception system. There's no permanent staff. We had trouble checking in upon arrival, but contacting the hotel manager quickly resolved the issue. He was helpful and understanding. The hotel was clean and tidy, with nice decor. It's a boutique hotel in a historic district. We enjoyed our stay.

Loved this place. Felt like home. Very nice patio to have your coffee, bathroom was great, shower was ao powerful. The mini fridge was great to stire a few yummy tomatoes and jamon for snacks.

The stone steps leading up to the entrance were tolerable. The accommodation was on the second floor, and since we knew there was no elevator, that was fine. What we wanted was a good view and a relatively clean place. However, unlike the photos, the view of the Alhambra Palace was mostly blocked — only about half was visible. The cleanliness of the accommodation was terrible. The air conditioner emitted a foul, moldy rag smell, so we had to turn it off immediately. Anyone visiting in summer would likely find it unusable. We left the windows open to ventilate the odor, but mosquitoes came in, and my child was bitten throughout the night and couldn’t sleep properly. During our more than 10-day trip in Spain, staying in both cheaper and more expensive hotels and Airbnbs, this was by far the worst in terms of cleanliness. I sincerely ask the host to have the air conditioner cleaned for future guests. (I strongly advise against turning it on — it smells like a rotten rag and mold, as if it hasn’t been cleaned for over ten years.)

I imagined finding the hotel to be a little easier than it was. I used the recommended car parking Ave Maria Vistillas and found it very difficult to get to due to the street signs and vehicle restrictions in Granada. Once parked there is a decent walk which takes you to quite a flight of stairs serving the area of Albaicin but also providing access to hotels and b&b’s. Candil Realejo is positioned halfway up and so is not suitable for people with mobility issues. Access is provided via a pinpad and the instructions are clear and for me there was no issues. Very nice staff welcomed me my arrival and provided me the details of my room and a key. My room was on the first floor and on the corner overlooking the steps. It was dual aspect and despite having no view of the Alhambra still had nice views. The room was a good size. There was a slight smell in the bathroom area but I imagine this because it is an older property. The WiFi was good. The Alhambra is within walking distance, as are many nice shops, cafes and restaurants. Candil Suite Realejo also has a nice pool. I didn’t use it but I imagine on a hot day it’s a very welcome relief. Breakfast was served downstairs in the beautifully tiled dining room and conservatory area. For me the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It was a continental breakfast I do recommend a stay here as long as you are aware of some of the difficulties you may encounter when accessing it.

Elegant Comfort and Warm Hospitality in the Heart We stayed at Suite Comares for two nights in May and were absolutely charmed by the experience. The accommodations were impeccably clean and elegantly decorated, with thoughtful details throughout. Our suite featured a private little patio and a luxurious Jacuzzi bathtub, making it a perfect place to relax. There’s also a lovely shared sitting area with tea, coffee, and biscuits provided, and a beautiful garden pool that adds to the peaceful ambiance. The location in the historic Alcaicería district offered breathtaking views of the Alhambra and a truly authentic feel. What made our stay truly memorable was our wonderful host, Luisa, who went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and shared great local recommendations. The only minor challenge was the uphill cobblestone access to the apartment, which was a bit tricky for my 82-year-old mother, but we managed—and it was well worth it. Highly recommended for a tranquil, elegant stay in Granada!
