The check-in during the new year holidays was quite a log wait... taking over one hour. The facility was ok ... considering it is in the national park. Most of the staffs seemed friendly except one lady who worked at the Yavapai cafe (December 29, 2024 around noon) was quite rude towards us. We ordered a large coffee and got a middle size. We politely told the lady that it was the wrong size. She was annoyed and threw the cup right in front of us with terrible attitude. I hope she just had a bad day that day and hope it was not some kind of racism.

Nice location, starts kind of in the middle of the trail along the Canyon. We went in one direction the day we arrived and the opposite the following morning. No pictures can describe the magnitude and depth of this area. What I didn’t see anyone mentioned and came as a surprise is that admission to the National Park is $35 per car for 1-7 days. Also that because of the elevation it’s quite chilly even though it’s sunny. The view is truly grand! The deli at the market offers variety of hot sandwiches, a cup of soup with a juicy chipotle chicken sandwich was a great way to finish the evening.

When we walked in the room after check in at 9:30pm, the room was not cleaned nor fixed and when I complained about it, the hotel front desk said it’s not their problem but house keeping problems! Not taking responsibilities nor providing good services in this situation.

Spent 1 night at Yavapai Lodge. Arrived at night thus didn’t eat at the restaurant cos drove from LA and Hoover Dam. Room is as per pic and clean. Bed is acceptable. Location to me is great cos the market plaza is there ( supplies etc). Was assigned East wing and on the ground floor and the nearest bldg to the check in counter and restaurant so was close by. Worth the money I paid for the room. Will stay here again if I go to GC again.

Carpet less desirable but will struggle with traffic of hikers using the room. Suggest when refurb look at washable floor covering which is easier to keep clean. Coffee machine makes like warm coffee at best which is a shame as look good quality capsules. Location is great to get out and explore Grand Canyon.
